Ah, time travelling. So tough and fraught with peril. You never know when royal hotties will ambush you and try to thrust their tongue down your throat.
If they continue their Hanadization (yes please), I know exactly what scene this is too and I love this scene like I love chocolate and caviar and blueberries and other good things! (Well, I wouldn't love it if they went with the way it went down in the manga, but they are going with the Meteor Garden version and that is A++++ awesome).
Also, am amused as she's an antiques dealer and now she's with a genuine antique. LOL.
In conclusion, is every version of D/M gets more of a make-out than the Korean one? Why, yes, apparently.

My second-ever drama and the one which convinced me liking Mars wasn't a fluke and I need to investigate this whole drama thing more. I've seen a gazillion other Hanadan versions since, but Dao Ming Si and Shan Cai are still my favorite takes on D/M. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I feel a rewatch coming on. It's my second most-rewatched drama, once again, except for Mars.

He was actually probably the most out of control/scariest out of all the adaptations but that was only fitting because Shan Cai was the toughest, fiercest Makino out there. I mean, that girl was crazy tough and fearless. She's actually my n1 drama heroine EVER.
MG was also the only one out of all the adaptations that felt like it could take place in a real world and you could pass those people on the street.
ooooh, since we are MG-talking, what's your fave scene?
Mine's the one where he gets beaten down to a pulp to protect SC. That's one of my fave drama scenes anywhere. And the one at the end when they talk through a door during his starving-to-death-cause-of-Mama-Satan phase. That was so deliciously shippy and angsty.

The way he was trying to laugh it off about Rui making a move on Shan Cai...then he started to choke, and started to actually cry in front of Xi Men and Mei Zuo. That tore my heart...and the most amazing song, "Love of my life" by Queen...wow, just wow.

Date: 2011-02-07 05:38 am (UTC)I always thought Mama Dao Ming was a lunatic to try to separate him from Shancai because it was pretty clear he was going down some really really dead-end path - if he didn't meet her, he'd probably end up dead or in jail from his escalating, acting-out brawls. But meeting her gave him a healthy focus and also allowed him to slowly become a functioning human being.

Hopefully in modern - better medicine (which they seem to need if trailer is any indication, hello stab wounds) and also away from Four who is going to be emperor and has a tendency to off people for fun and profit. Though I think it would be hilarious to watch Eight get used to modern day. I'd want a whole other season about it. "Yes, that's called a car. No, you are not supposed to kill people with it. This is called a TV, nope, it's not moving due to witchcraft so stop with the amulets" etcetcetc. Also, her Mom would have a heart-attack.

also, at the moment, i know Four is all eveeel and creepy, and he is also all emo. and as much as i never thought i would even like emo (seriously, what the hell is wrong with kids today!?), i am really liking Four, or rather, i like watching Four. Su Yan really needs to get a grip though, and see what he is doing to her, and what she is letting him do to her.
and Eight and Qing Chuan? yep, like crack! Korean drama-writers really need to watch more of this stuff to learn how to write proper manga adaptations!

He's a monster, no doubt, but as a character I can't wait to watch more of him. And I must admit that at least out of the princes we met so far, most suited to be Emperor. I mean, I adore Eight and he's undoubtedly a better person as he has not been murdering siblings, but there is no questio Four would wipe the floor with him intrigue-wise.
Eight/QC makes me so happy, I turn back into a teenager :P
