Your daily JPLH obsession post!

I won't have time to watch the tantalizingly fully subbed ep 5 until tomorrow (it's very close to Baby Mousie's wake-up time and since it's the weekend, I want to hang out with Mr. Mousie during her nap/going down for the night time) but I can't let the day go without acknowleging my new obsession, can I?

I've already raided out basically every promo still ever created so there are no more of those but luckily, look what I found! Leads in modern-day-clothes. Nifty!



Also, this is ridiculously cute, even if I have no idea what is going on :)




Yang Mi must weigh 90lbs or something, to be lugged around like this. (Side question - what else has she been in. That's 2 for 2 in the number of dramas I really liked her in).

She was also Guo Xiang (Huang Rong and Guo Jing's younger daughter-the one Yang Guo took care of as a baby, not the one who cut off his arm) in ROCH, and one of the Liao Zhai series.

Apparently the ratings are really good, but cdramas rarely do sequels so who knows.

Well, I really liked her in Meirenxinji, but that one stars Ruby Lin, not her. It's a 40 episode historical that follows the life of Empress Dou of the Han dynasty, and has basically everything this drama has, minus the Hanadan OTP. The MRXJ OTP is more of the girl-is-a-spy, boy-is-a-prince, both-are-in-love, dynastic-changes-happen-while-they-negotiate-their-marriage kind. Oh, and the wardrobes are absolutely fabulous. Even better than JPLH.

I love that show. ♥

And she starred in Wang Zhao Jun, which is a biopic about a Tang palace maid who was sent to the Xiongnu chief for peace treaty purposes, and is considered one of the four great beauties in Chinese history.

She's also a side-character in Hong Lou Meng, which is sort of worth watching just for the cultural value the source novel has in China, but um. Yeah, the big problem is that not a lot of these mainland dramas get subbed. D:

I think the Ruby Lin one is on viki. Off to look. Period cdramas are my fave dramas but the lack of subs is :(

If not for your original post I would never have started this series...now its my new obsession as well...can't get enough of it...also went to the forums to see all the pics and now have resorted to watching it raw...thank you thank you for all your posts!!! ^_^

So far, has to be that first kiss. He was jealous (I think, watched it raw) and just reacted to what she said but then he was so contrite and like shocked at his behavior (my interpretation) so I loved it even more! Oh well, can't wait for fun/cracktastic scenes between my OTP!!!

Seriously, I have you to thank for this wonderful discovery and now I am off to spread it to all my other drama lovers, they have to watch JPLH too!

Yup, that sounds like a great scene. I am not that far yet so my favorite was the one after make-over where he asked her to be his concubine and her reaction and his reaction to it. LOL. Though the brothel thing comes a close second.
