Spammer fail
Jan. 17th, 2011 11:28 pmHave anyone else's old LJ entries been spammed with ads lately?
I've gotten a few of such lovely gems lately - usually for completely useless things like God-knows-what located in Krakow or apartments in LA. Even weirder, someone went to all this effort on really ancient entries which means nobody except for me will see them. Bizarre.

Date: 2011-01-18 04:31 am (UTC)*shrugs* LJ is having spasm issues. And, my comments are really slow in getting to my in-box, as we've already discussed.

Date: 2011-01-18 04:34 am (UTC)I am still boggled why someone thinks I may want anything from Krakow - nothing in my LJ would indicate I am Polish (nor am I).

Date: 2011-01-18 04:40 am (UTC)BtW: I'm happy to hear Secret Garden ended well for you. Weird the sister disappeared, though.

Date: 2011-01-18 04:50 am (UTC)SG was pretty awesome. No idea about why the sis disappeared in second half. I wonder if the actress got sick or something.

Date: 2011-01-18 04:55 am (UTC)I looked it up on dramawiki, and the actress has nothing coming up. I guess she got sick. I'd like to know why they wrote her out of the second half, though. I always hate when characters disappear in dramas.

Date: 2011-01-18 04:58 am (UTC)Re: sister. She was a pretty minor character so it didn't bother me, but it was odd.

Date: 2011-01-18 08:03 pm (UTC)now I wonder what is going on :S
What I did was screen the comments because I didn't know what they were... now I can delete them ;)
Thank you for mentioning all this!

Date: 2011-01-18 05:29 am (UTC)I am so tempted to make lj-users only can comment option, but the problem is I like some anons who comment.

Date: 2011-01-18 05:31 am (UTC)I did make mine LJ users only temporarily. Until this all gets worked out. I hate doing it, but the spam is really annoying me.

Date: 2011-01-18 06:00 pm (UTC)I know I can make my lj non google searcheable but I'd rather not, so I'll see how long this spam infestation lasts.

Date: 2011-01-18 07:10 pm (UTC)My public blog, dormant as it's been since the summer? Gets about 30 failed spam comments a DAY. They all just sit in moderation until I spam-delete them but apparently enough people out there don't moderate that these spammers feel it's worth their while (especially since they use botnets automated to scrap URLs of blogs/journals everywhere and try to stuff them with these comments).

Date: 2011-01-18 08:35 pm (UTC)What I want to know is what software they use to get around LJ's requirement of entering characters to prove you are not a bot - because I am boggled to imagine a person actually enters stuff manually.
