I bailed after ep 12 of MSOAN but I did read recaps and liveblogs of it through to the end. Oh my, the writer must have had some really really good drugs. It's a pity because it had a lovely cast and the first half had a delicious, quirky, off-beat vibe. I really do wish they stuck with the first writer, despite her flaws.

Sadly, this means I am finally adding both the Geuns to my small list of "red flag when they star in the drama" actors (others on that list include Lee Min Ho** and Kim Rae Won*) - all the actors on that list do good work but seem to have a horrendous taste in picking dramas. MGY, first Painter of the Wind, then Cinderella Unni, now this? Three strikes, you are out. She is a versatile actress but her drama taste is not mine. Jang Geun Seok? I don't know who picks your projects, but fire him. My dislike of YAB is well-known, BV was a dead bore, and MSOAN was the messiest mess that ever lived. (Hong Gil Dong I do adore but I thought he was wooden as a plank in that one - I did not care for either his character or his acting in that one). I think he has oodles of on-screen charisma and plenty of potential but the roles he picks - oy!

* KRW is a perfect example - I adore him and most of his dramas are hits but I can't stand any of them, except for Which Star Are You From which I do love.

** Oh, Lee Min Ho. You are hot and charismatic and have lovely acting chops. How I wish you were in something decent for once, but given your track record, I am preemptively skipping City Hunter for my own sanity and blood pressure.

I second the LMH thing, only I actually maintain a tentative hope for City Hunter. I actually really enjoyed the OTT Jackie Chan version, lol. And apparently I don't care about my sanity or blood pressure, because I'm really eager for all of the Mary cast to move on to better things. Except possibly JGS. Whatever on him. :|

Aww I loved Cinderella's Sister. Painter of the Wind did not hold my attention but it was also competing for my attention against Secret garden and MSOAN. Then you got me curious about Gloria. So I may go back to after Secret Garden ends and I finish up Gloria.

I will be watching City Hunters only for the LMH goodness. I didn't really like anything about Personal Taste except the plot idea. The way they carried it out just didn't entertain me. I didn't feel there was much chemistry between LMH and the main actress. I did like BOF a lot (it was my 1st Kdrama...I think it will always have a place in my hear). Then end was terrible though. Actually the whole 2nd half with out LMH wasn't that great.

I'm rambling...

The drama I am looking forward most this year is Poseidon!!! Can't wait to see Eric in something new! Can't believe he started working on it so soon after his return!

Ahhh I must agree, I am eagerly lookin forward to Eric's new drama! He was hilarious in Super Rookie, and delicious in Que Sera Sera.

Lee Min Ho-my-God is very pretty, but I hated Personal Taste with a passion and thought BoF was the cracktastic mess of the year that I enjoyed like you would enjoy watching a demolition derby. 8-)

eeeeeeerrr, I believe he picks up his dramas himself. i read that he wanted MMM so desperately and he wanted to make sure that MG role goes for him. and that was way before everything.
I liked YAB alot, I loved BV even more. as for HGD, i could not stand the whole drama because of KJH (ooops sorry dear, clash of opinions again)
he was one of my favourites but his recent changes that was caused by YAB fame have disappointed me in him. MMM was his last chance to prove himself to me and all i saw was promoting JKS the actor and concentrating on his beauty than talent. so is crossed from the list. borrowing your red flag. ;-)

Amen on Jang Geun-seok. I will actually say I haven't watched any of his dramas, but I like his looks (you know how sometimes, there are some people you don't like the looks of?) and quite curious about him.

There isn't something he's done that I'm interested in yet, though. "Mary" was supposed to be that. Specially there's Kim Jae-wook factored in. But it fell apart.

Sigh. The boy needs some serious guidance.

hmmm I have to agree about Mary. I had such hopes for it too, but they kinda died. I haven't finished it - but I probably should. For me it was mostly the draggyness of the plot. It seemed like each week I was watching the same episode being repeated in slightly different ways.

Speaking of people you don't trust to pick good shows - who would be the actors that you do trust?
I'm on a Bae Doo Na watch at the moment. So far I've seen Country Princess and Linda Linda Linda and I'm in the middle of God of Study right now. They all seem pretty good depending on your style - could also just be that I find Bae Doo Na funny and love to watch her act. I've mostly liked Lee Da Hae's choices as well. Also Hyun Bin...

yeah, I have to say I didn't really like KSS. It was recommended to me by a friend so I slogged all the way to the end. I don't have the heart to tell her I didn't really like it.

So do you know if The Snow Queen is good? I noticed it has both Hyun Bin and Sung Yuri. And how bout Hong Gil Dong -with both Sung Yuri and Kang Ji Hwan?

The 24 hours waiting period between episode 15 and 16 were perhaps the most anxious I've ever been for a drama ever. I was actually even consider not watching it at all because by 15 even I didn't think I could stand the shit anymore. And this coming from someone who loves all three the Gokusen series' despite questionable acting chops by some of the leads and the fact that the whole series feels like a 30 chapter fanfiction written on one prompt.

But I can take comfort in knowing that despite my fears Maeri did not end up with Jung In (by the end I that was really the only thing left to care about) and I got my Mugyul/Jung In moment and while the three parents unfortunately did not die, they were sent to the OVER THERE of dramaland and were promptly never seen again.

I take back what I said about the Gokusen series. Despite the recycled plot for the two sequels (first series not implied because it is awesome) at least it seemed to be going somewhere. What even it had over Mary was consistency and a point (and season three has Miura Haruma to rival JGS in pretty).
