Yes, I watched it raw and mmmmmmm...this keeps getting better and better. Here are my six favorite scenes, in order of their airing.

Scene 1: I came to do...this.

Yes, the rain hug. HJW and HB have insane insane chemistry, as always, but what struck me was the tentativeness and tenderness of this scene. The way he has no filters, for good or ill, and is so straightforward in telling her he came to hug her. The way she almost gives in to his embrace - her eyes almost closed but not quite, her arms don't go around him but she leans in. They are so very close yet that barrier, built by her insecurities and his inborn classism (the problem is, oddly, his honesty - he does not conceal that he's madly attracted to and obsessed with her, but he doesn't conceal his thought that they have no future, either) are still there... (This is like a WAY more functional Bali).

Scene 2: Put a ring on it

This is the second scene I loved, and it involves Oska flashbacking to his and Seul's doomed relationship but what really got me was that he still had the (ginormous :P) engagement ring he proposed to Seul with all those years ago. I don't know why but it really hit the romantic in me.

Scene 3: Break-ups and break-downs: or another day in OskaSeulsville.

Let me put it this way - there is no way I wouldn't ship this secondary OTP because I am drawn to fictional romantic dysfunction like moth to a flame and if dysfunction were currency, Oska and Seul would be richer than they already are. It turns out the leaked song came from her firm's IP address so he assumes she leaked it as part of their headgames (see, that's the danger of headgames - a little truth wil help everyone) and even though she defends herself (it's interesting to see her openly vulnerable and human - she is not often so, but she is softening up more and more as eps go along - I wonder if by the end she'll be back to her adorkable flashback self only older and wiser), he tells her they should not meet again. Angst = that's what's for dinner.

And then while he sits outside, she has a total meltdown. Once again, it really struck me because when we first met her in ep 1, I could have never believed that the bitch ice queen (1) could be capable of crying like this - of feeling enough to cry this way (2) and that in the unlikely event she did, I'd care. But - both happened. It's shocking to see poised and composed Seul lose it this badly (it's almost as bad as when she was having hysterics in the car after turning down his marriage proposal only this is more powerful for not being in flashback, for modernday iced-over Seul being this way). I think I want Oska/Seul in part because only the other person in the pairing is capable of bringing out this degree of emotional involvement and response in the other and getting through all the armor.

Scene 4: Deeply intellectual.

I believe this one is self-explanatory.

Scene 5: Everybody wins.

Director and JW's sister meet and there are sparks flying. Please please please let Modern Cheoro find love with her. He's too awesome to be left pining for Ra Im. Plus, she's the only sane member of the family.

Scene 6: Best one of the episode, even if it tore out my heart.

Ah. The elevator scene. Surely it's ridiculous to be sitting here misty-eyed over it but the hurt and the longing and the crossed-wires really got me. Because she is so angry when she finds out that he (in her body) accepted money from his Mom. And he tries to explain that this was his way to protect her and to show his mother she is no mean opponent, but she tells him that this just makes her like some greedy nobody who could be bought. And they are both right and they are both wrong and they just can't meet halfway because her reaction is alien to him but his actions hit right in the center of her insecurities and her inferiority complex. (I am on his side of the argument here but I can't blame her for her reaction - it touches all her issues dead center). And she tells him she never wants to see him again and she says she can't be his little mermaid because little mermaid loved the prince - his face - OMG. I really think she's the only person who gets to him like this and who can really hurt him.

She walks to the elevator but he chases and stops her from going down.

And then...you can see he is dying to step inside the elevator and he's trying but he just can't. And so he tells her to come out. But the thing is, she has no idea of his crippling claustrophobia - to her it's another example of his high-handed, arrogant, my way or the highway behavior. You see her face become closed (because once he chased after her, you saw a possibility of her softening/hoping) and she pushes the elevator shut.

And he runs down the stairs like a mad person, trying to catch up with her, but of course by the time he finally gets down to the ground floor, she is gone.

Can't wait for ep 10! Here is the preview:

The rain hug was almost like the fitting room scene for me -- I held my breath while JW held RI. And I felt all mushy and warm when he tightened and hugged her some more. I want a hug too!

That look on JW's eyes when RI said the Little Mermaid loved the Prince -- absolute torment! The hopeful look RI gave JW when he opened the elevator door and her face hardening after asking her to come out. Ah! All these small details from the scene to the actors works for me. Oh how they stared at ech other in that small space and distance... I almost pushed JW down those damned stairs (but prayed he won't fall and hurt himself. LOL!)

I'm really loving this drama.

I see from Ep10 preview we'll be having some lighter (and sweet?) moments during one of the stunt team's shoot.

Yes, ep 10 was lovely.

I feel bad for JW but he really needs to realize how much RI means to him and if he can only realize that through being hurt, that's fine with me.
