Their chemistry is unreal. I have not seen anything close to it all year.



I am watching episode 4 of Secret Garden, and he's being horrible and she's fighting back, and they are both angry and lashing out and the air is so charged between them I am having trouble breathing. And you can't help but feel that at any moment the fight will end and they will just start tearing clothes off each other and going at it on the floor. I mean - wow. I have never seen anything like that. It's insane.





And then he bolts from the room in the middle of the fight because he's going crazy being in such close proximity to her.




Yowza. Please have hot, angry, messed-up sex already. Thanks.

ETA: Not really related but I wonder if there is a reason he's so claustrophobic. I mean, he's cripplingly, interfering-with-functioning claustrophobic (that's why he barely comes to work, he nearly had a screaming panic attack in a tunnel, and when he bolted after a fight with Ra Im it wasn't just because he was emotionally overwhelmed (though he was), it was also because they were in a small enclosed space and the fact finally hit him). I know there doesn't have to be a reason, sometimes people just have phobias, but I wonder if there is something more here. I love that Ra Im is the physically intrepid one and he's the very opposite. It's pretty unusual for a kdrama.

I think sometimes what can happen is there was already a little bit of a fear there, but then something can happen that enflames it into a full-blown phobia. It bet it's got something to do with his family.

I agree with you - I think it went into a phobia due to the family (for whatever reason). Did you see them? Eeeeek and ugh. Especially his Mom - she looks and acts like a vampire. I expected to see fangs at any moment.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS DRAMA. I watched episode 2 last night..eh this morning at 3 o clock (I had to get up at 8:30) and I just couldn't stop, I would have gone further with ep 3, but that wasn't ready yet. I rarely post in my lj, and it's even more rare that I post about a drama. But I did now..and only after 2 episodes. :o

I was talking to Mr Mousie about phobias and he says you are born with a predisposition to having a phobic disorder, but what that phobia latches onto (e.g. why JW is scared of small spaces and not birds) is often (though not always) connected to a traumatic experience. I am curious if that is the case in JW's case or more like he's got neuroses due to his weird brain wiring/family/etc and they happened to have latched to small spaces as a phobia (but he couldn't have had it from childhood - everyone in his family would have known and it doesn't seem to be the case. Also, I finally got why he only comes to work twice a week - it's the tunnel. If I had a phobia that bad, I wouldn't come to work at all, tbh).

He was going to explain the reason behind his phobia in episode 1 or so but someone interrupted him. I can't remember the exact scene, though.

And that's the most interesting thing - he's physically... well, useless, while Ra Im's a top stuntwoman. The body switch is going to allow more than just understanding each other's minds and motives; who knows, it might even be a way for Joo Won to get over his physical limitations?

I don't know - after all his phobias are in the mind. It's not as if he is e.g. lacks upper body strength or can't walk without limping. I think Ra Im is going to find her livelihood endangered - how can she do stunts if she can't even get into an elevator.

That's true. But if we think about that, Joo Won's standing in the company will also be endangered - Ra Im doesn't know the first thing about running a company, and we've already seen that Joo Won's actually extremely smart and VERY competent. He's only been able to stay in place so far because he's so capable, or he would've been ousted by that Evil Manager guy already.

Either way, it looks like the two will have to work together to iron out their weaknesses or both will lose their jobs.

All I know of "Secret Garden" is its cast and the basic body-switching premise. I'm very interested, though. I think I'll watch it when it finishes airing.

Just finished watching Episode 4 and I was actually holding my breath in that fitting room scene! I knew from Episode 1 this drama will be the one to save me from my SKKS separation anxiety. But I am loving the series on different level. The pacing is fast, the actors have great chemistry and acting (Hyun Bin's expression seeing the light at the end of the tunnel? loved it!), the snappy lines and beautiful cinematography fit the bill. I am just a little bit wary of the "body switch" in the coming episodes. (I've seen too many of this from Hollywood.) I hope the writer (I enjoyed City Hall)won't disappoint.

Btw, I agree to EVERYTHING you write about this drama. It feels like you're in my head! LOL! Thanks, Dangermousie :)

Everything about this drama fits so perfectly and rightly (agreed on the tunnel scene btw - such a great little sequence) that I don't dread the body switch because the writer seems to know exactly what she's doing/the actors are amazing. In a way, the switch is necessary for the two to truly understand each other - they are too far apart as it is right now and both are too stubborn to give in. Maybe then JI could understand her poverty and her toughness and her pride, and maybe then RI can understand his neuroses, his family (ugh) and everything else.

This said, I hope they won't remain bodyswapped till the end, I want some proper yumminess and angst in their own bodies :)

Don't you think Joo Won, aside from it seemingly his nature, he really goes out to annoy Ra Im because he wants her to fight back, protest? I'm going back to the shooting in the mall and how annoyed he is that Ra Im keeps on apologizing.

I think that is it, too - plus, when she's angry at him, it means she's actually engaging with him, cares about him, even if it's only to fight.
