Who knew hat removal could be so unbelievably sexy!

Omg, hats! It's like helping someone into their armor in Legend!

That was intense. And I watched it without sound. But oh my goodness, mouth movement!!!! *melts*

I am trying very hard not to hyperventilate during class right now. *hyperventilates anyway*

Hello lovelies!

I think hyperventilating is the norm watching SKKS =)

I woke up to a text this morning from a friend. She wrote, just watched 16: hyperventilating!!! Lol.

But yeah in class! Hehehe did those around you give you looks?

Luckily no, they were too enraptured by the professor's monotonous voice. But I was so upset because I wanted to flail too, but then everyone really would look at me. Apparently I can only watch SKKS in the quiet of my own room, where no one can see me go "awwww" with a silly grin on my face, or see me hide my eyes behind my hands when things get unbearably cute (does anyone else have a problem with this? I always have to rewind until my poor heart can take the cuteness) or see me flail when characters are being particularly adorable.

I'm glad other people hyperventilate when watching this show. Maybe we can form a support group???

Hahaha, people all over the internet have realized SKKS is a bona fide affliction. Our lives are all on hold it seems.

Read the PSA here:

comment 16. Story of our lives, I reckon. =)

Man, I have never once regretted the hours watching dramas alone in my college dorm room. It's one of the most perfect ways to destress in my opinion! And it's different from watching something like Grey's Anatomy with the house/friends bc one would need to provide cultural context, english subs, etc. So different from watching kdramas with family.

Monotone professors! Ah, the best researchers are some of the worst lecturers. heh.

Omg, HISETETBG and "Always practice safe SKKS"--HAHAHAHA!!!! Thanks for the link, it was awesome (and so very true).

I've watched kdramas with friends, but since they aren't addicts like me I always worry about whether or not they are enjoying it. And I really do have to contain my fannish glee when I watch shows with people because I think it may be too much for some--I suppose only true asian drama addicts would understand and the rest of society would be terrified if it saw me in such a state. And waiting for a dvd to burn can make you so antsy (OMGIcouldbewatchingthisrightnowARGHHHH! *claws at face*), especially when you have to burn softsubs along with it.

Alas, my mother refuses to watch Asian dramas with me (I've been trying to get her to watch Coffee Prince for such a long time now). She says between coffee, regular soap operas, and Gordan Ramsey she already has enough addictions.

I hate my professor. He made my lab partner and me redo a lab 4 times. Seriously, just give us a D and let us move on in life. Gr.

I was fanning myself literally when I was watching it earlier... Why does it seem to me that this hat removal scene is just as sexy as what's depicted on the book (SJ undressing YHee on the top of that rock heh)? So beautifully done, so intense.

And I was wondering whether you knew that the one playing as Chosun was on Chuno too or not... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4hEEfqOCe0&fmt=35 :)

oooh sexy! thank god it's not just a tame peck with zero emotions. and it's not overdone too, which is great cos if they suddenly got into it too hot and heavy, it wouldn't be believable to me (although i must admit i want them to do the horizontal already haha)

and somehow the first thing that went through my mind was "she must be standing on a box again" lol

I ship them soo hard. My heart was floating out of my chest at this part. The entire episode was filled with amazing little moments, but this one in particular~! =D

It was private and heartfelt and completely lovely. I felt so happy watching Sun Joon and Yoon Hee in this episode!

*sigh* They are so in love! Sun Joon is really Garang! hehe.

Also, episode 16 since we didn't really dissect it, loved it! Every episode has been beautiful and fun to watch. My favorite bit about 16 was Kim Yoon Hee burrito! XD

And he SO is Garang.

I just died when I watched episode 17, it has all the things that I have always wanted a couple to do in dramas (this episode played into everything I love)- the awkward confession, sweet attempts at hand holding, the ring, the innocent kiss....the sweetness drove me crazy- I think this is the most romantic k-drama I've seen b/c of episode 17 (Miju and MW of Giant are also very romantic and are a close second in most romantic OTP)- the kiss was so sweet, the kiss of innocent sweet first love...LSJ is the best kdrama hero ever, I don't think anyone could ever top him

Do you know any other dramas that have incredibly sweet romantic moments, like in episode 17, between the OTP that just make you swoon and make you want to be in love? It's going to take me awhile to recover from that episode 17, the chemistry is just explosive between the two leads...

Date: 2010-10-25 11:38 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dapenguinisblue.livejournal.com
That confession. So nerdy and awesome! I mean, honestly, Lee Sun Joon is a man after my own brainy heart. Is that not the best confession in some time? Notes. In books. In the library.

Garang! I have loved many kdrama heroes, but Lee Sun Joon is this sweet mix of intelligence, integrity, and social awkwardness. That alone would've been enough for me, but bonus - he's also super fine! (heheh yeah, YooChun has always been my kpop bias.) I haven't seen too many kdrama heroes that I'd actually want to be with in real life. It's usually just a response to the chemistry with the pair (or being told they're the OTP) or the charisma of the actor... But LSJ is indeed my real life type. =) Not just bc he's pretty, etc.

I also suspect that the Moon Jae Shin love has to do with the character possessing all of the typical kdrama hero characteristics, but he's the second male lead in this instance. And that, my friends, is a departure in kdramaland. I totally get MJS love, bc I waffle too whenever he's onscreen, but at the end of the day, I end up commenting more about Lee Sun Joon and wanting him to be real. Jae Shin is too much drama for me to handle in real life hehehe. Heroes like Jae Shin and all the countless others make for great storytelling, but I never find it desirable in real life. It's nice to see someone like Sun Joon, who we know will be an excellent husband and a committed one at that. I think Garang love is also a reflection of my own personality because I'm a low drama type of person. I prefer my drama in fiction, thank you very much. =)

And what takes the cake is that Kim Yoon Hee is a wonderful character in her own right, and they are absolutely GOOD for each other. She is pure love! I want to be best friends with her every time I see her. They are a formidable pair together! =)

I totally agree that LSJ is the character that every girl would want to marry in real life and is such a departure from the usual kdrama hero (like MJS- who brings the drama..ect) I think characters like LSJ are usually the second good guy characters in kdrama who never get the girl. I am ecstatic that he is the lead in this drama... I am usually into more aggressive type of heroes too, but LSJ just has the perfect mix of everything I would want in a man, he knows when to take charge without being overly annoying ( I love that he has a jealous side also)
I think the social awkwardness of SJ's character is really what draws me into thinking he is beyond adorable- plus he is such the sweet, caring attentive type who I know would just be doing sweet things for her left and right. I am such a sucker for the awkward hero who doesn't know how to treat the girl he is passionately in love with- plus have you seen his smile? it is drool worthy- I am definitely a YC fan now

I also love YH and that is very strange for me because usually I am annoyed with one of the OTP and in this drama I really love both of them

Date: 2010-10-26 04:23 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com
Yes. In a typical kdrama, JS would be the lead and SJ would be secondary guy who'd never get the girl. I am so glad it's reversed for once.

Hmmmm, I usually ship my ships angsty and not sweet so am racking my brains - I know, Worlds Within. Has so much delicious and wonderful shippiness. It's a very romantic drama in general, highly recced.

Also, some twdramas, like ToGetHer or Mars or My Lucky Star.

Date: 2010-10-26 03:16 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] gurlygirl10.livejournal.com
thanks mousies, I am totally with you about shipping angsty OTPs (I loved Bali) and I feel that a lot of the sweet pairs are usually not done well and are a bit boring, but SKKS made me change my mind, it had the perfect sexual tension in the scenes and the chemistry was crazy to the point where I felt like I was spying on a real couple in love, it was just so touching, not cheesy at all, and didn't seem play acted like some of the other sweet scenes in drama- It really hit all of the right emotional buttons for me

I would be surprised if anyone wasn't totally shipping LSJ and YH after episode 17- they are made for each other- I don't think I have ever scene a man give a woman a ring so romantically in kdrama before *swoon

Thanks for the recs!

DangerMousie! =)

Sorry this is off topic, but I'm working through your archives and I'm in fangirl heaven. =) You are so amazing! I love reading your take on all my favorite past dramas, and I'm keeping an eye out for recommendations as I read them. Our tastes are a bit different but I really think your opinions are hilarious and honest. Thank you!

Been backtracking through Goong (love!) and Beautiful Days (whoa, memories). Lee Byung Hun is my absolute favorite Asian actor. His VOICE! His presence!! =)
LOL at the Bad Love episode 1 recap. Could not stop laughing!
I know you don't like Ryu Shi Won much, but have you seen Propose with him and Kim Hee Sun? That one is a classic and fantastic one. Just amazing fun about post college twentysomething life. The OTP are best friends who realize they're perfect for one another.

Am itching to finish Damo after SKKS after seeing you mention it all over your blog. I'm now ready to watch it. I've tried on three different occasions (when it first aired too), and I realized even then that it was superb and beautiful, but I was too busy with school and also knew I couldn't handle the angst then. I figure if I watch with one of my best friends I can get through it. I introduced her to kdramas with SKKS hehe. And after that one, Capital Scandal. Holy Kang Ji Hwan and Han Ji Min!

You're a very dedicated fan of many different things. You are awesome!

Yeah, I am not a Ryu Shiwon fan, but I am always willing to give a second chance. I'll check out Propose - it sounds lovely.

Damo is great but oh-so-doomed. Capital Scandal is just...total love.

I LOVE THIS EP SO FRIGGIN MUCH!

Sorry for the caps, but I just want to show how I am head over heels with this drama...or more accurately, with SJ & YH! My goodness, their chemistry is such a wonderful surprise!

They portray the beauty of first love so perfectly well! *sigh* No wonder there are rumours spreading around these two! Heehehhe, being the ever dreamy me, of course I want Micky & PMY to get it on hahah, and make pretty babies.

Oops...ran off topic, sorry.

So many parts that make me swoon...the way SJ tries to touch YH's hand, the confession from SJ (urging YH to seriously consider a future with him), the rings SJ bought, and OMG their first real kiss!!! Omo omo omo...what a great k-drama kiss! (I'd love to see Micky & PMY in another drama that is set in modern time...however, that probably won't happen...)

I can't wait to see the ending...please show us a wedding! Pretty please!
