Daemul. Baker King, Gloria, Coffee House - that's a lot of caps and thoughts

I thought, instead of making four separate posts and cluttering the friendspage, I will combine.

You know, YSY isn't the most amazing actor yet (he is, after all, a newbie) but every time he hurts, I just want to cuddle him and soothe him and make it better. Good casting - invoking my maternal instinct.




Meanwhile, in the land of dysfunction - guys, take your prozac. I do love that Ma Jun is still obsessed and Yu Kyung is still brittle after two years. (Btw, I continue to be impressed with Joo Won, who is an utter newbie but portrayed a complex character so well. In the wrong hands, Ma Joon would have been unwatchable).







And then I cheated and checked out ep 30 to find the most awesome, sweetest ending for Ma Jun/Yu Kyung.



I love how he confesses his faults and his love and she cries it out and then they get that ridiculously awesome picnic (I want a husband who bakes me bread!) and even more than that, I love that they are going to travel around the world and Ma Jun can discover what it is he wants to do with himself because before, his life was always predetermined. Side note - she is so much tinier than he is! SQUEE.



















I am continuing with my watch of the quirky, delicious Coffee House and it confirms two things - (1) Kang Ji Hwan can do no wrong my eyes. All he has to do is to appear and my heart flutters and (2) I am so happy that his OTP in this one is his decade-long friend, the strong-willed, eccentic, successful businesswoman and not the typical naive ingenue with no skills and a big heart. I cheated and watched the last ep, and the chemistry between the OTP - oh my GOD. So good.






And here is a huge number of caps from the first ep of Daemul (softsubs through ep 3 are out and I can't wait to catch up). It's my current favorite drama except for SKKS. Warning - most of these caps are of Kwon Sang Woo, because I am a hardcore KSW fangirl (hey, if I still adore him after both Bad Love AND Cinderella Man, I gotta be hardcore) and I am just so excited that he's finally picked a project that is both very good and very successful. Not to mention that I adore his character, Ha Doya, with an unholy degree of love.







Does anyone angst better than KSW? I don't think so. Just as well, seeing how much practice he had.

Of course, there has to be an excuse for The Abs. LOLOLOL. I kinda love how the drama both provides fanservice and pokes fun at it - the context is Doya infiltrating a brothel as a male prostitute. LOLOL.

I completely LOLed forever how he was arranging the one-night stand with this girl - making sure he got a clear verbal repeated consent, checking her license to make sure she wasn't underaged etc. LOLOLOL. The only reason she was putting up with his nuttiness was the hotness :)

Highest-rated drama of the week, baby! Just in its 2nd week.

Maybe you'll disagree once you catch up but I thought he just got hotter and hotter with each ep. Every time I thought he couldn't look any hotter, the drama was nice enough to prove me otherwise. Here's a liveblog reaction of someone on DCgall re: KSW during one scene in ep. 3, which cracked me up so much because it mirrored mine (and many others'), except that she was trying not to crush on him and I didn't care:

OMG how can a man look so good in just a white shirt and tie
OMG there's a leather jacket behind him I'll die if he wears it!!
OMG HE'S WEARING IT!!!!!!!

That was a fun twist. Not only led us to seeing DoYa as a prosecutor for the first time, but also showed us that he's *very* good at it, albeit unconventional, which drives his bosses bonkers.

Thanks to your various posts on MJ & YK, I d/l-ed Baker King right away. I just LOVE the last ep with the YK's breakdown & confrontation with MJ! I am super relieved they decide to give their relationship another chance, and try to work things out (which I am sure they would)!

Don't you just love Eugene's character transition is also depicted through her make-up?! I love how in the very end, she has little make-up...just fresh & pure! Her hair down...very soft-looking. As in YK doesn't need to be so strong anymore...she can just rest on MJ's shoulder, and finally, get the loving she truly deserves!

I didn't think about the make-up angle but you are so right - in the final confrontation it's caked on, almost like a mask, but she is back to her simple self at the end, only this time without the hard edges of the beginning.

Baker King - wasn't that just a perfect ending! I may have squealed like a little piggy. ;P I didn't like Yu Kyung to begin with but then, I didn't like anyone else besides Tak Gu in the beginning. For some reason it took the longest to 'get' YK.

Daemul looks like fun. I just might fit it in somewhere so I can at least check it out. My to-watch list is getting out of hand again and all I can do is obsess over SKKS. Sigh.
