I don't know if the demand is popular or not, but I so want to do a picspam post, so who cares!

Actually, I think Drew Baylor is my favorite Orlando character. I mean, there is nothing to compare with the hotness of the angsty, wounded, scruffy Balian, but Drew is just nice. And my rare crushes on ficitonal bad boys notwithstanding, I think there is nothing as sexy as nice and dependable and decent and sweet.

Yeah.

So, in that vein, Elizabethtown pics. WARNING: If you have dial-up, this is going to kill your connection. I decided to be a very thorough girl, and as a result, there are almost a hundred pictures here. And a lot of them are huge. (If a lot of people with dial-up want to see these and can't load the sheer volume, let me know and I'll break this into 5 entries of 20 pics each or so). Anyone make me an Orlando icon from them? Pretty please?

In other news, I really recommend Matt Ruff's Fool on a Hill. It's probably my favorite fantasy novel that wasn't written by someone named Tolkien. It's whimsical and funny and creative and romantic. I know I am a bit biased because it's set in Cornell: the cemetery which George sits at is one I walked through a number of times, the bridge where Rubbermaid (yes, indeed) and Preacher face off, is the one where my husband and I had our first kiss. But even if you've never been within a 1000 miles of Cornell, it's still a brilliant and funny and emotional book. The plot? Mr. Sunshine (who is really the narrator) sets in motion a whole complicated and complex plot for the sake of a good story, not caring who gets mangled in its wheels. It involves George, a writer who will have to battle a dragon before the book is over to save his True Love Aurora (a co-ed from Wisconsin); a whole society of faeries with Shakepearean names; Tolkien House (which is surely the coolest frat ever); Luther, a dog who is searching for Heaven; the Bohemians, a group of non-conformist political and art activists led by Lion-Heart; and Ragnarok, one of my rare tortured-boy crushes. I love love LOVE that book, and cannot recommend it more highly. Oh, and for the Veronica Mars connection, the whole Preacher-Jinsei-Ragnarok thing reminds me a bit of Duncan-Veronica-Logan. Hmmmmm.

Heh. That bridge is a good one for first kisses. I grew up there as well, so I have more than one =).

Mmmm, I loved that bridge. If people were walking on it just right, it would shake a bit.

Ohh, very nice pics indeed - worth having to reboot my computer after it crashed trying to load them... :) He's just so gorgeous, isn't he? *swoon*

Sorry about the rebooting thing! I was too lazy to split the post up. And yeah...way too gorgeous to be allowed!
