ETA: AAAAAH! [livejournal.com profile] seven_trees just posted a bunch of caps from a scene in ep 16 and I am having problems breathing OMGOMGOMG why am I only on episode 10 helpppppppppppppp!

I apologize to anyone who has friended me for any reason other than Chinese wuxia dramas. I realie the last posts have all been about Legend of the Condor Heroes non-stop. And seeing I am only a fifth of the way through, I don't think it's stopping any time soon.

I am obsessed. I haven't marathonned like this in a long time. I haven't watched anything else - no Tsuki no Koibito, no Calling for Love, no Coffee House. Not even ep 2 of Bad Guy. I can't stop!

Anyway, I better go to bed before my eyes fall out of my sockets - they are literally gluing themselves shut, but before I do, I leave you with this Guo Jing/Huang Rong cuteness. I love that her reaction to hearing how he was bullied when he was little and wanted his dead father to come save him is to promise to protect him (to which he starts cracking up and points out she is half his size so she stands on a ledge. SQUEE) and then he tells her she has no mother - she is pitiful too, and that he will always take care of her. And they pinky swear.

I LOVE THEM TO FRELLING INSANE AMOUNTS.

I find that Wuxias are one of those genres that are generally addictive and consuming so I totally understand. Pretty much every wuxia I've ever seen, I marathoned because I just could not stop watching.

Yes - I am not watching anything else which is unheard of, for me.

Good Night - I cannot even see any more

mousie,
Sounds like me, when I watched 'Winter Sonata'. I barely stopped to eat and sleep through the whole 20 episodes. (And 'Hotelier' sigh...)Obsess away, my girl. We drama fans each have our, ah-hum, own particular reason(s) for our obsessions. You know mine, too well. (Shame, shame, imagination. Now, behave. I have to take it in hand from time to time, or it runs away with me.LOL)
I would love to see some of the 'doramas' you have been watching, but I can't. Still, it's a blast to visit your blog, and read your intelligent comments about a variety of interesting topics. And your wit; biting, but subtle. I like it! Reminds me of...me! No wonder I feel as though I have found an internet friend.
Take care and keep on obsessing!!!
A

That's how obsessive I was with Legend, too!

I wish BYJ would do something else soon :)

mousie,
I don't know if you've heard about 'Dream High', but apparently Yong Joon-ssi is seriously considering a starring role in that series. They are supposed to be in the process of filming the drama, soon. One news report said they hope to be finished by the end of the year. I hope that is true.(Dare to dream.)Can't wait, can't wait! (Sorry, I get all excited about this, and about the publication of BYJ's book, in English; also supposed to be done by the end of the year! Fingers crossed. And toes, and eyes...LOL)
Later,
A

mousie,
I hope so, too, hon. I have a bit of unexpected good news. Previously, in my comments here, I said I was unable to watch any of the K-dramas from your comments here. yesterday, I happened upon a link to a site where I can watch many of these dramas! I am so excited, and I can't wait till I have some free time to begin doing just that. Maybe sharing some BYJ info with you brought me luck, my friend. Who knows? I just know that now I can participate in more of your drama discussions. Very cool! Take care, me girl.
A.

Don't worry, I love reading about it. :D It sounds awesome and while I don't have any time for this at the moment, your postings definitely made me put it on my to-watch list. Right now Jumong has prioity if I have enough time to marathon a drama, but I'm looking forward checking this one out.

Jumong is wonderful and well deserves a watch - though it's twice as long as this one :)

If you ever do decide to check LOCH 2008 out, a word of advice - I find first couple of eps of wuxia are always best skipped - first two of LCH are pretty useless, IMO (its requel has three first episodes so awful I am still not sure why anyone kept up but after that it gets amazing. I sense a trend).

Since basicly everything I want to watch is shorter than Jumong...I might never be able to watch it if I don't give it some kind of priority over shorter dramas. *gg*

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep that in mind. :)

Jumong is 81 eps of over an hour each. Even behemoths like Yi San don't come close :)

hey dangermousie, I told seven_trees about that scene in ep16 just being a warm up for those two - the real action is in ep 43 or 44 (don't remember exactly right now). You have lots to look forward to!

Guo Jing-Huang Rong is inoocent pure love, Yang Kang-Mu Nianci is passionate tormented love, and Yang Guo-Xiaolongnu is undying devotion love.

When (if) you get to the third drama in the trilogy, Dragon Sabre, unfortunately, its the weakest OTP in the series, the main guy has like 4 different women in different positions in his life, and that one has a genuine love triangle.

Anyways, looking forward to hearing more of your awesome insights into LoCH as you watch.

I can't wait to get to ep 43 :)

Btw, I can't help but bring my modern audience views and as of now I want to strangle every character over 30 except for Honglie and Ouyang Ke (I don't know how old the latter is). All the righteous ones irritate me so much - picking on Guo Jing and thinking YK is a freak for not adjusting instantly.

I couldn't go through return of condor heroes first episodes because of Liu Yi Fei bad acting. She is so wooden ! And I can't see any "godly" vibe through LYF portraying. She looks "pretty" but in my opinion she was miscasted.

I liked LYF but I like Ariel Lin better.
