May. 27th, 2010 05:24 pmAm on ep 6 and am really confused:
is Yang Kang's real father still alive????????????????????????? and goes by surname Mu (which is a play on words) and is Mu Nianci's adopted father????????
OMG, I believe so.
Does that mean that Yang Kang and Mu Nianci are an OTP who are unknowing ADOPTED SIBLINGS??????
This just went kdrama on me!
Also OMG now I want Xiruo/Papa Yang reunion because this would be so awesome - I ship sexy old(er) people - Xiruo is still beautiful and Papa Yang is totally hot!!!!!
Also, does that mean Yang Kang unknowingly attacked his own bio father??? Eeek.
Have two awesome heroines:

And some OTP cuteness!

Date: 2010-05-27 11:08 pm (UTC)I just have to warn you a bit, this version of LoCH changes the Yang Kang character a lot, he still does what he does, but the motivations and reasonings are different (which is why many purists HATE this version).
I am a purist (read the novel as a kid, watched all the adaptations), and I loved this version. Why? Because Yuan Hong's performance is nothing short of exceptional, and he sells Yang Kang's personality and inner struggles. The only Yang Kang better than his (and I may have to rank it as equal) is the iconic Michael Miu version of Yang Kang in the LoCH1982 TVB adaptation. MM's YK is the closest to the novel, and was perfect. But I can't judge YH's performance bc he's YK was written so differently.
Just so you know, but watch this LoCH without any of the baggage, it works on both levels, knowing the story and not knowing the story.
And Ariel's the other other Huang Rong that can match THE Huang Rong performance that everyone still talks about today, Barbara Yung. But Ariel made HR her own, and I loved it!
Two sets of perfectly swoony worthy OTPs, how can we not love this story, right?

Date: 2010-05-28 03:56 am (UTC)The two OTPs = adoration.
I watched 7 eps in less than 24 hrs and am only stopping because my eyes literally refuse to stay open much longer. YK may be my favorite character so far except Guo Jing is so amazing.
So addictive, so good.
