Oh, the desperate way he grabs her (and drops formal speech!) when she proves, yet again, that nothing will change how giving she can be when she gives her heart.

Gae In: "To love, is to throw your pride away."
Jin Ho: "Love does not ask you to discard your pride. It's about protecting a person. Don't do this in the future. Don't believe people so easily. Don't fall in love so easily. Don't forgive easily, either. Please...become stronger."
*brb once I recover from a swoon*
You know, they make such a perfect pair - she is such a good person with such an open and giving heart and degree of sheltered unworldliness due to her upbringing, that she needs someone like him - someone who would never take advantage of that kindness and innocence and who would cherish and protect her. And he is so reserved (even repressed) that he needs someone who is so open with her heart and her warmth and her feelings - to barge past his barriers and make him feel safe to come out. And her impulsiveness and openness and immediacy is so good for him - because she pushes him not to bottle things in, to express his needs and desires.
I have gone batty for Personal Taste and I don't care who knows it. Yes, I know I am in the minority - I don't care. I adore this drama to bits!
Side note: when Jin Ho was running that hypothetical for her - "I am dating you because you look like my former lover, and sometimes I will call you by her name, or ask you to do the things she had done? Would you do it?", and she said she would - I am sick but I went OMGOMGOMGOMG I would so KILL to see that drama - dysfunctional and dark and hot as it would be. I want to see that with LMH and SYJ. Please. MMMMM. Maybe one day :)
You know, I am not insane - I won't argue this is better made than e.g. Cinderella Unni - in terms of objective quality CU clearly has PT and most other currently airing dramas beat. But in terms of emotional, personal preference (hah! worst pun ever!), I confess that by now PT has become the drama I love and am invested in the most. I can deal with flaws if I love the characters and am emotionally invested. And PT has gotten me so.
ETA: You know, this drama got really good the moment it realized that its two leads were excellent dramatic actors, much better at that than at OTT comedy, and so ditched most of the silly OTT stuff more suited to a teen jdrama in favor of subtlety and angst. And also when it realized that writing them as real relatable people is so much more effective than cutesy little setups. Once it revealed them as such - I was a goner. (In the first 4 eps the actors did their best to create reality but the writing wasn't there to support them. But then it became a whole new drama - one I could truly love).
ETA2: Holy...!!!!

ETA3: Speaking from personal experience, a guy who helps you puke is a keeper.

(I love that this is fastidious Jin Ho doing this as a matter of course).

Awww! From my experience, it turns out he wasn't a keeper. :(

Date: 2010-04-29 04:16 am (UTC)I confess even though I was spoiled for the ending of ep 7 and the 'confession', I still totally screamed in shock. I could kinda alternaship that! :) I confess to giggling in a very immature fashion when Director told LMH that his heart stirred from the moment he beheld him. Him and every BOF fangirl :)

//spoiler
When she writes on his back "In the next, next, next life…come back to me as a man…who can love a woman.” GAH! D:

Date: 2010-04-29 07:02 am (UTC)Perfect drama right now for my romantic needs :D
They're both such awesome actors and I love them together.
What's also surprising me is that the age difference isn't apparent at all, like it is in Oh! My Lady. Just two people that without a doubt are perfect for each other.
There's a thing I've been forgetting to ask you: What do those drama tags you're using mean? Your rating? I've been thinking and thinking about what those numbers could stand for :D

Date: 2010-04-29 02:44 pm (UTC)LOL, no. OK, this is going to sound really geeky but basically LJ times out your tags if you have more than a 1000 entries under a tag. I.e. if you have e.g. 1002 entries tagged 'drama', the two oldest entries with these tags will never show up - that tag has basically been nullified for them due to being maxed out. Not an issue for most people, but as I have over 2000 drama tagged entries, I have to break them out (if you look at my tags, you see them go as high as drama10 but that is because before lj maxed out at a 100 and also because I kept bad track of tags).
Yes, the age difference isn't noticeable. I can believe them to be roughly the same age.
They have so much chemistry. MMMMM.

Date: 2010-04-29 02:41 pm (UTC)Pity they didn't fix this sooner - it would have given Cinderella Unni a much tougher run for the ratings crown.
