Hana Yori Dango tries to go for an R-rating but sadly develops cold feet :D

If the kdrama of Hana Yori Dango put this scene into their adaptation, I will faint from shock, but it doesn't stop me from wishing it would.

Short summary: Makino sneaks into Domyouji's house (while he distracts the guards) and a MAJOR make-out ensues. Kdramas are nowhere near as sexless and prudish as jdramas (they took all the sexiness out of every manga adaptation I have ever seen: Hanadan, Hana Kimi, etc) but still, I really doubt a Korean teen drama will go there :D































And, sadly, Makino's little freak-out puts an end to this manga's effort to turn into Sensual Phrase. Well, not sadly, because it would not be be good to have the male protagonist be a rapist (unless you are a manga author like Mayu Shinjo of Haou Airen fame, that is), but sadly because I am a perv :D

Man, sometimes all of this makes me feel so old - it's been a long long time since sex and related topics were an area of freak-out for me.

Well, it wasn't Ceres or anything, but they did have a lot of prettily drawn kissing and hugging (esp in later volumes). I am sort of biased because I don't like the jdrama adaptation of HK at all.

Yeah, I just remembered about the kissing and hugging and stuff near the end, when Mizuki found out that he knew and stuff. XD I never finished watching the end, so I didn't know if they kept everything.

I don't like it either! I prefer the Taiwanese one, even though a lot of people love the Japanese one. x_x

There are 36 main volumes and one recently released (in Japan) 37th volume of side stories. I think Volume 34 will be coming out in English next month. Suffice to say, it's not a short series!

Ah, I love that scene, and I've read it so many times (because I too am a perve ;-). It really does remind you just how young they are; they're at that age when even holding hands or kissing is a big deal.
Those are Jen Wand's translations; I recognise them! Hers are much higher quality than anyone else's in the fan community (gawd, it tells you something about how much I've been into this series when I can recognise the translations at a glance...)
I seriously doubt the k-drama will go there too, alas. But I guess we'll get a feel this coming week about the amount of quasi-sexual content it will show. It's certainly fully aware of its own sexiness!
This is also where I've really regretted that Meteor Garden was rushing towards the end, and skipped over a lot of the later stuff from the manga. If there is any country that's going to have full-on making out in a teen dorama, it's Taiwan!

Omg I love this scene! They should so put this in the drama not only because of the awesome make out session but also because of the conversation they have which is so sweet!
But from what I've heard, they apparently said that they'll tone all the fun stuff down because the drama's for teenagers (jeez they're teenagers not toddlers) :(

Damn, I wish libraries carried these. I didn't know they went so far in the mangas. The last thing I remember reading in the manga is Makino being dragged by the car (before she fell for him, I think).

Oh, I actually found this amazing site which has almost every manga I'd ever need. I'm about done downloading HYD, started downloading Skip Beat and I'm excited to see what else I can find.
