You mean a girl who wins the heart of her future OTP through kicking him in the face and has a food fetish a mile wide, can't even sit cross-legged properly for a tea ceremony (not to mention play a piano except for inglorious noise) and is capable of physically fighting a school full of bullies is not ladylike? SHOCK.

They are also still complaining Jun Pyo is too nice and why would Jandi be afraid of him. HELLO. Leaving aside everything else, she thinks he ordered her gang rape. HELLO. Earth to crazy people! Not to mention he is a genuine jerk. An amusing one to watch but still...would be hell to be around in RL. What do they want: him torturing puppies on screen? Yes, he is pretty. I'd go as far as to say he is hot. But he is still, at this point, a total BASTARD. being hot does not make him less so.

I won't even get into the complaints that it's too much like the Japanese drama. Really? How could that be? It's based on the same manga. *gasp* you think there will be similarities? No way!

I do think she's a bit more vulgar (not the right word but I can't think of another one) than Makino in HYD. But kdramas have a real love of scenes where the heroine stuffs her face (Jan di is nothing compared to heroine of Coffee Prine!) in sometimes rather unladylike ways, so I expect that they'll play that up even more. I just think it's a function of plucky heroines in Kdramas often being quite rough around the edges in general.

She was kinda deliciously vulgar in the manga, so I think that's what I am going by :) But yeah, kdramas love heroines who stuff their face etc.

She had quite a potty mouth in the manga, too :-). And I have a great love of the scene where she's sprawling on the couch exhausted, legs splayed out - in a skirt. (While her mother scolds her for sitting in an unladylike fashion.) She yeah, canonically speaking, she's not much of a lady at all.
The eating scenes are real k-drama material, its' true.

And calling Tsukasa a 'tako' all the time (which is basically the Japanese equivalent of 'jerk-off' or 'ass-wipe') was incredibly refined of her, of course.
Fans can be nuts sometimes! The whole point of the character is that she is somewhat 'earthy'!

I was wondering about the names in this. Is Jandi her last or first name? Her father's laundry is Jandi Laundry, but I rarely see anyone call her Geum.

And is it Joon Pyo and Joo Hi (Rui)? Does it really matter how I refer to them?

Hello :-). Geum is her family name, Jan-di is her given name. And it's Joon-pyo/Jun-pyo and Ji-hoo. I'm sure we'll all get the hand of the Korean name soon enough!

I'm so pleased I've managed to avoid the wank. At the end of the day she's not meant to be ladylike and sweet; she's tough and rough because she's had to be, and as a matter of fact I prefer her for being rude and opinionated, because it makes her more interesting! And ok, my heart is starting to soften slightly towards Jun Pyo, but it would take me a long time to even consider hanging out with hom for more than five minutes, let alone fall in love with him!
