Saw Milk yesterday (the movie, not the white liquid people drink). It was an entertaining enough way to spend 2 hours and $10 but good acting notwithstanding, I fail to see the fuss over it - except for the fact that it was about a gay person, it was a stultifyingly conventional biopic, sort of a 'watch and forget' kind of a movie. But then, the guy next to me was crying so I am probably in the minority.

I'm used to Makino with longer hair. D: I mean Inoue Mao had shoulderish length hair, and Barbie Xu had really long hair. Seeing a short-ish bob is kinda weird. ._.

Plus I kinda want Oguri Shun and MatsuJun and Inoue Mao and Matsuda Shota and Abe Tsuyoshi and Nishihara Aki back. XD;;

And I had something else to say but it kinda flew out of my mind, wut. ._.

Well, in the manga, Makino cuts her hair off fairly early on and has short hair so that doesn't bug me (plus I bet they did it to make GHS look more tomboyish and younger).

I loved Japanese Hanadan but except for Inoue Mao and possibly Matsuda Shota, I thought they were all physically wrong for the part (i.e. didn't look the way I imagined). Now, I loved them anyway, but I am excited these look more like my mental images...

Basically, GHS does look younger, so I guess that's good, then I talked about how I just hope that they don't make Domyouji's mom all, "I'MMA KILL YOU AND YOUR GIRLFRIEND!" because while I realize that most evil Korean parents are like that, Domyouji's mom was pale in comparison. ._.

I'm sooooooooo excited about this!! (yes I have no life). For me I think they got the physical casting spot on this time, that's what really bugged me about the J-drama.
Also I think Lee Min Ho looks lots like Jerry Yan, esp from the side ;-)

The physical impression Lee Min Ho gives means the battle is already half-won in terms of conveying the character well :-).

Heh - I still can't reconcile myself to Matsujun as Tsukasa, even after all this time; in fact I probably find him even less Tsukasa-like now than I did in the beginning. But I think I'm probably in the minority with that opinion!
Have you seen the behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot? I found it fascinating to see everyone in action, and hear their voices.

But yes, MatsuJun is very unTsukasa-like. I liked him despite that but he is very physically wrong for the role. I mean, I can punch out his scrawny short self myself and I am a teeny tiny girl!

They managed to make GHS look a lot more youthful but she still looks older than the F4 to me. I just wish they'd picked someone a little younger.

I only read the first volume of the manga and a couple episodes of the anime before losing interest so I can't compare to that very much. I always like to see new adaptations of things though, as long as they're done well. I'm actually relieved after seeing the pictures of Makino in character. She looks more useful than I thought she would.

But it's hard for me to see anyone but the 3 Japanese actors (Rui, Makino and Doumyouji). For one, Akira (name, I'm not sure) played Domyouji (also don't know spelling, lol) so funkily and strange and great. This guy looks too cocky. And Mao played Makino so innocent, yet argumentative yet shy. And Rui was just love with his unapologetic laziness and book reading and. . .the way he always said MA-kino.

Aw, it'll take a while to get used to it.

The clothes! This drama is being done by Group Eight, so yes the fashion will make us want to poke our eyes out. But, the director did direct Delightful Girl and My Girl, so that gives me some hope.


Can we talk about about Joon Pyo/Domyouji and his hair for a minute? It looks like a middle-aged woman's perm! Freakishly rich people really do have no taste.



And despite the cute haircut, Koo Hye Sun still does not look like a high school student. She's very cute, but she still looks mature. The guys still look younger.

According to my sources (dramawiki) Group Eight is the company behind the awful Goong S, the upcoming, often delayed The Return of Iljimae, and the (also) often delayed Boys Before Flowers. That's it. I honestly don't have much faith in this production company. They've done three projects in two years; one was horrible and the other two have been delayed at least three times, each.




Akira is just there because F4 sounds better than F3. Akira needs some drama, but he gets nothing.

I feel so embarrassingly old when I fangirl about Hanadan and the upcoming korean adaptation but I can't help it...

All the actors look a bit weird to me, but hopefully, they should grow on me once I start watching it, if not, there are always the pretty sets and tacky clothes to amuse myself with!

Finally, for god's sake, will someone just do something about Soujirou and Yuuki!? Group 8 and the writer will probably win the undying adoration of fangirls the world over if they give us the happy ending we all seem to *think* we want!
