Ji Hoo offering Jandi his arm - once again, how Cinderella!
With his hair gelled up, Kim Bum really does look like Song Seung Heon. Seriously - totally makes sense why he was in East of Eden. Does that mean Kim Bum will be as eye-meltingly hot as SSH when he is older?
That party looks not only filthy expensive but filthy boring too. Yawn. I've seen accounting meetings which were more fun. What a way to spend a birthday - poor JP! (But not as poor as he is going to be when he spots Jandi).
Also, I wonder who invited F3? I wouldn't put it above Darth Mama, just to make them see how their friend has changed into a good little toy.
Darth Mama is talking - I am shocked the poison fumes don't seem to kill the guests!
Seriously, JP looks as stiff and stifled as an animated corpse.
Ji Hoo looking at Jandi clapping. Ohhhhhh! Why do people say KHJ is not expressive? He is plenty expressive IMO, with his eyes.
OK, why do they have two candles on the cake? I presume JP is older than two years old. I am sure they can afford twenty or however many candles.
He sees Jandi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, he is trying to be composed but his lower lip is trembling and he keeps swallowing. Ohhhhh!
And then he recovers his composure. You do know you can use one of those long sturdy candles to stab Darth Mama in the eyes? They even considerately provided two, Jun Pyo!
Poor Jandi! GHS is really good at angsty scenes. But at least she has Ji Hoo always watching out for her. Good.
Darth Mama comes to talk to Jandi. I love how Ji Hoo quickly figures something is off.
She asks her to play piano in front of everybody. I'd tell her to stuff her piano where the sun don't shine. I mean, what else can she do to Jandi? She can't break her up with JP as that's done, she can't get her family to lose their business, it's done. So what does Jandi have to lose?
Also, seriously, Darth Mama, you are a moron. Yeah, JP will stop liking her if he finds out she can't play piano because he is so music obsessed. Oh, wait, I think I am thinking of some other Jun Pyo, because that's not your kid. And he is really going to love you for humiliating the girl he loves. Once again, maybe you are thinking of some other Jun Pyo? Spite is ridiculous, seriously. She didn't steal your boyfriend, Darth Mama, she just dated your son, until you made him dump her. You know, I'd never take JP for a husband, I don't care about love or whatever - no love is worth a mother in law like this.
You know, Jandi agrees but she is a lot more fragile in this scene than Inoue Mao was in Hanadan - Mao was just pissed (or Barbie Hsu in Meteor Garden, but then I think Barbie was so tough she could eat Darth Mama for breakfast. Yay!) I do think that when it comes to social situations/emotional ones, this version of Makino is much more fragile than either Mao or Barbie.
The way JP turns his head when Darth Mama announces Jandi will perform, I am worried he will twist his neck off.
My favorite version of this scene was in Hanadan2, hands down - because Mao's Makino didn't know any songs or whatever, she just banged on the piano defiantly and awesomely. And I loved the way Matsujun looked at that display of nerve and awesomely appropriate bad manners - "that's my girl." I always think the scene is diluted a bit when she can play something, however simple - as either here or in MG. Still, the angst is lovely, GHS has a gorgeous voice, and I love how discomfited Darth Mama looks to be bested at her own game.
I love Jun Pyo's and Ji Hoo's faces during the performance. Different but equally yummy brands of angst!

OK, the subs just died but I know Darth Mama is announcing JP's fiancee. *stab*
Darth Mama, you are perhaps unclear on the concept? Yes, I know it's nice to have a surprise present for your kid's birthday, but springing this on him? Not really what is meant by that.

Seriously, Darth Mama? They already broke up. Stop hammering. If you gave up, they'd actually give up faster.
Seriously. The gal is telling your son, to his face, she wants nothing to do with him. Rest at that. I mean, if I were Jandi, I'd try to win him back just to spite you, if you keep yapping!
Jun Pyo, you are mentally challenged - you can't tell you dragged the wrong girl out?
Also, I really loathe Shigeru now - I was giving her the benefit of the doubt about the spoilers of her asking Jandi to be her love coach for JP, even though how does she think Jandi knows him so well? But she is here, present and sees Jandi and JP having a confrontation clearly about a past relationship. And yet later she still thinks it's OK?
Shigeru, die. AM IRRITATED.
Also, why do you need a cellphone or money if your SPs are two seconds behind you?
Jandi's heartbreak and Ji Hoo's realization she is not over JP (and his subsequent "Yoon Ji Hoo what are you doing" to himself in the car) make me sad.

Well said! Jandi is more fragile in this version. And Ji Hoo... Okay, I am ji hoo obsessed. I just can't handle gentle eyes very well.
And in the previews for next week, Ji hoo has a line where he goes, " I keep wanting her. What do I do?" Someone kill me now. And it seems that gaeul and yi jung ploy is to get jandi to seek junpyo to help her while jihoo makes himself conveniently unavailable. Oh, my friends!
