Date: 2009-02-23 10:22 am (UTC)It's so funny, I could never be a Rui/Makino fan or any of the incarnations because I've always liked Domyouji better. I don't know what it says about me that I like my male protagonists to be larger than life. There's still a blankness about Ji Hoo that won't allow me to get emotionally attached to him (even though he has all this rich, angsty history). Is that weird?
Watching it, I do find it funny how they've written Ji Hoo & Jandi's relationship in a very shippy way. They're very easy to get in the kdrama and I do wonder if they'd have the balls to make them the end game. It would certainly be interesting for one adaptation to try it out. And yet I find myself not being turned by them at all. And I'm really not one to stick with canon if there's clear chemistry between non-canonical characters. I just don't see it with these two personally.
I don't think I'm meant to get it. *g* Now if Yi Jung was in the mix...well, it'd probably be a totally different story. ;)
