From episodes 1~12 the cast will be in high school and from episodes 13~24 they will be in college. they are splitting the drama into part 1 & part 2 just like the japanese version except it will continously air. the staff is not sure how they are going to play out part 2 but they have stated that it will definitely be different from the japanese and taiwanese versions.

Oh, great. Great, great, great.

We'll see how it works out. If it's going to suck (which is my prediction), at least the first half was lovely.

It is a wreck. I started it, but I still can't bear to finish it. Apparently it does have some good Zai Zai scenes, which is basically what I'd be watching it for.

it might not be bad at all, i mean, things have been going well up to now, so even if they play fast and easy with eps 13-24, they may still hit your drama kinks, just not your HYD ones.

failing that, just remember, there is NO WAY IN HELL that what they come up with could ever be any worse than the horrendous car crash that was MG2!

We'd see how it goes. I totally didn't like MG2, but I was spared with my trauma on part 2s in Hanadan, so we'd see how Kkotboda does in this one. I'm crossing my fingers that it will continue being awesome as I see it now :D

I'm actually pretty happy about this and curious to see how it will play out. I think the original story has been told and retold to satiety. Time for some unexpected twists... Though, to be quite honest, it will be hard to find new material: it feels like, in the course of the manga, Youko Kamio has said it all, used every shoujo trope and romantic string. Now to see what they'll come up with...

I am also mildly worried because the production house is Group 8, who previously thought it was a great idea and a great script to have a Goong AU, set in a parallel world without any of the protagonists which made the original such a hit.

I have an enduring love affair with the manga, but I feel like everything has been done with this particular font of storylines. The neverending adaptations are starting to be a bit much and I even thought I wouldn't watch the kdrama at first, but, well... the flesh is weak. ;)
As it is, I wouldn't mind seeing hat happens next. Do they live happily ever after? Do they smother each other in their sleep with pillows? Those are the existential questions that keep me up at night, because, quite frankly, I think the manga has tackled the 'courtship & budding love' period very satisfactorily and in depth (ie. to death :)).

Aaah, the inimitable Goong S... I still shudder at the mere thought of it.

*sigh* I thought so... Well, who knows, they might do a good job of it? (she says, not very hopefully) But - despite the horror of MG2 - part of me hopes that they'll weave an entirely new story out of it, because it's hurting my manga purist soul to see bits randomly inserted, completely out of order and unattached to real character development :-(. I had enough of that with Hanadan.

Perhaps that is the wisest way to look at it after all; 'inspired by' rather than 'based on'... (Who am I kidding; I'll never stop comparing it to the manga! *grin* And to a lesser extent, to the other versions). But perhaps it will stop me from getting riled up. They've already made the giant leap forward that I'm so disapproving of; now I'll just judge it by how well they deal with it. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Thank god! I was worried they were going to leap frog them into adults which visually would have been very hard to pull off.

Kim Bum is a real cutie but no way can he get away with adult running his family business.

I'm not a manga purist and after 4 versions I'm okay with them playing with the storyline but emotionally it still has to make sense which BOF doesn't always.

=S as if i wasn't terrified enough when i was waiting for the drama to start... i must now wait again for the second half to start and hope that it won't blow. i really hope they know what they're doing. i wanna enjoy the drama whole-heartedly it its entirety.

... and i just thought of something. do you think that if they're skipping ahead, the drama will included the hotter scenes between Makino and Doumouji? cause really, they'll be adults when the time lapse happens, so things like that shouldn't be unusual. *hopes*

Making her become a swimmer.
