Heee.
Read spoilers for ep 10 of Oh My Lady and so much squee!
Ye Eun says her first word to Gae hwa!
I love how Min Woo tries to make sure that his Manager's plan (i.e. they leave Ye Eun in orphanage temporarily and then Min Woo will formally adopt her. Manager even hints if he doesn't do it that way, he may never get her) is truly workable/temporary but even after all the reassurances he still doesn't want to do it. AWWWWWWWW! And he helps a lost little girl, thinking of Ye Eun, awwww.
Also, he doesn't kiss Yoora because he's thinking of Gae Hwa. SQUUUUEEEE!
And at the end he and Boring Producer rescue Gae Hwa from his manager's goons through fighting OMGOMGOMG since when did this become East of Eden?
So much squee!

Date: 2010-04-20 05:23 pm (UTC)OML reminds me of That Fool. MW and the kid have more chemistry than MW and GH (in That fool Hwang Jung Min had WAY MORE chemistry with Baek Sung Hyun than with his leading lady Kim Ah Joong). Also the other guy in That fool and the boring producer in this drama are equally wooden.
Also, the plot is ridiculous and all over the place- it is like I am watching Heading to the Ground (but with a better leading couple).
Most of the time I feel nothing for GH and MW- basically I am watching this for: the little girl, GH`s best friend (I love the actress) and the reporter (he is not LOL hilarious, but he is entertaining and I`ve seen the actor in a lot of dramas).
MW character needs to change the way Hwan changed in BL (even Hwan was not this bad in the beginning), and yet we are 10 episodes into the drama and his (MW`s) improvement is minimal.
It is obvious the writer is a ROOKIE and she has no idea what should she do next with the plot and the characters.
I feel like I am watching a TWdrama.
OML is mediocre which is why the ratings are bad and not improving.

Date: 2010-04-21 01:51 am (UTC)BTW, GH`s daughter may not be the cutest kid actress , but is definitely THE BEST(I mean, have you guys seen her in OB/GYN? SHE CAN ACT!!!!! She is better than most adults!!! She was also adorable in Queen of Housewives.)

Date: 2010-04-22 11:20 am (UTC)I felt like I had been set free or something, just watching her yell back those absolutely truthful words at her dad. It always irritates the heck out of me, seeing kdrama characters (grown-ups, not just kids) take all sort of abuse, particularly from elders and so on. How often do we get to see someone who dares to talk back and get right to the point and say "this is not my fault, stop blaming me/other people"? I'm all for "respecting your elders" and so on, but it should only go to a certain point, and if they're wrong, they shouldn't be allowed to lash out at other people. If they're older, they should act older - that's what I always think.
Yes, Robbers! She was absolutely adorable, but I liked her better in Pyung Kang because I reckon she hit off better with Nam Sang Mi than Lee Da Hae.

Date: 2010-04-23 10:17 pm (UTC)Which is why the first thing I thought when I read the synopsis was: Why Kim Kyu Wan? Why?
IT WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA AND THE RATINGS SHOW JUST HOW AWFUL IT WAS!!!!
Even Dr. Kkang (a lazy bum who disguises himself as a doctor) was a better lead character -I am a dentist. I HATE PEOPLE WHO PRETEND THEY HAVE SOME KIND OF MEDICAL DEGREE - THEY ARE DANGEROUS (I am not going to rant about how dangerous it can be cuz that is common knowledge )- BUT the way Dr. Kkang was written made his character a tiny little bit acceptable in a drama universe(NEVER in the real world)- not the case with JH`s character in Robber( though ,on a second thought , I think that was because JH did such a good job in the beginning of the drama and then near the end he hits rock bottom –scams LDH`s character- the gilt overwhelms him and he SUDDENLY AND INSTANTLY BECOMES A GOOD GUY AND ON TOP OF THAT *just to make sure you are rooting for JH*- KIM KYU WAN DECIDES TO DROP THE (probably )LIFE THREATENING DISEASE in the whole scenario !!!)
The adage of illness (that was a chip trick- that kind of stuff do not benefit a drama) and the sudden transformation (Kim Kyu Wan should take lessons from BL and PP`s writer – she is a genius in subtle and believable character transitions) were the reasons I couldn`t connect with the male lead (and his profession).
On the other hand compulsive personality disordered patients are really rare and are never talked about in the media (unlike people with OCD, antisocial(s)/psychopaths, avoidant(s), histrionics, schizoids , paranoids….)- which is why my first thought when I saw the way “the other guy” was written was : “Mr Kim Kyu Wan, you`ve been in a “writing about orphans and child birth secrets /incest love–phase” for a while there, then you did an adaptation of a Japanese drama which got you enthusiastic about psychology – you`ve experimented in Dr. Kkang BUT that is where the experimenting should have stopped - PEOPLE ARE NOT GOING TO GET WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO DO WITH THIS CHARACTER (the other guy in Robber)!!!!!!!”
And people really didn`t get what he (the writer) wanted to show through this character- Kim Jin Goo was such an amazing character (really well written and the scene when he tears a bit after the conversation with his ex wife is undoubtedly the best scene in the whole drama) - BUT HE WAS SO OUT OF PLACE – IF THAT CHARACTER WAS IN A JAPANESE DRAMA PEOPLE WOULD HAVE UNDERSTOOD WHAT HE WAS ABOUT – in Robbers this ridiculously complex guy was reduced to a unorthodox “other guy”.
BTW, don`t get me wrong I DIDN`T SHIP LDH WITH KIM JIN GOO – the whole situation was like when a gay guy first comes out of the closet because of the support of his first ever real boyfriend ? Is that guy going to spend the rest of his life with that boyfriend? Probably not!! They are eventually going to break up and go separate ways and eventually find someone else. - LDH`s character was the first person to really influence and mean something to Kim Jin Goo, but by the end of the drama it was time for the two of them to each find their true happiness(They were not destined. Period.)
Yeah, I know it was a bad comparison(cuz the two of them never were more than friends)but I couldn`t think of anything else to compare them with (I am tired – it`s almost midnight here)
KIM JIN GOO SHOULD HAVE STAYED GIRLFRIEND-LESS AT THE END OF THE DRAMA was what I thought after the first episode (Thank you writer for going through with the accurate portrayal!!!!)
BUT I DIDN`T SHIP LDH AND JH EITHER ( LDH`S CHARACTER WAS A WIDOW WITH A CHILD- THE LAST THING SHE NEEDED WAS TO END UP WITH A GUY WITH NO FUTURE AND A HORRIBLE PAST)!!!!
