Oh, shippy angst galore!

1. I have watched Cinderella Unni raw. Yes, that is how obsessed I am. This drama is perfect. In addition to all the big, achingly-perfect shippy scenes, this little one got me the most.



Because Eun Jo might be crap at expressing emotions or normal interactions but she can be nurturing when it does not require verbal expressions - look at the amazing meal she cooks for Ki Hoon. And then when he's asleep, somehow it killed me when she tentatively reached to remove his socks, and then bolted when he made a movement in his sleep. Oh poor scarred, scared, amazing Eun Jo, I love you!

















Also, I love how happy Ki Hoon is in the morning when he sees the food and how he tucks into it with gusto even though it's all cold. Also, everything, Hyo Sun (who is beginning to really annoy me) included, basically disappears whenever he's with Eun Jo or even thinking of her.











Can I please kill the stepdad now? But the shippy out of it will be INSANE.





2. In other news of awesome dramas, haven't watched ep 3 of Prosecutor Princess as no subs but apparently the end of the ep promises me this delicious h/c angst?



Apparently Hyeri is attacked/kidnapped by thugs and In Woo (Park Shi Hoo's character) arrives too lte to rescue her so he sees her in the arms of Serious Prosecutor who just rescued her. Did I mention that she looks like Serious Prosecutor's dead wife and that the reason PSH came around her at first is that when they were children and he was horribly poor she fed him? Ahhhhhhhhh. Presumably once he saw the sheer awesomeness of grown-up Hyeri, he fell in love.

3. I have liked what I've seen of Dong Yi. It's a keeper. But 5 dramas is too much even for me and I think I am going to drop Personal Taste. It hasn't grabbed me yet, so bye-bye. I'll catch up later on it though.

Three things:


- I must watch PP as soon as subtitles are out.
- I loved the way she took care of him and their semi-hug. :) (Oh, and yes, HS is becoming more annoying.)
- After watching episode one with subtitles I am now 80% sure EJ has been sexually abused or molested in the past. Why? The way she screamed for the little boy when that man fell down drunk in her room. And, EJ's mom mentioned an ex-boyfriend, saying something like: "I wouldn't have left you there if I thought it was like Mr. Whoever."

The sexual abuse part will remain a moot point, I think, but just the prospect of it happening is horrible enough.

That said, her visceral reaction to most men makes me think that she has experienced it in the past. Perhaps, the writer did not want it to become a default reason to pity her.

Also, kdramas are much more conservative than e.g. twdramas. I am not sure they'd ever be able to address it head on.

I just thought there are more hints in episode 4 about this. When she was flipping through the book of paintings, she stopped at one in particular that had this large dark man and this little girl.

Good god, I'm hoping this does NOT turn out like "All About Eve". Eun Jo deserves all the happiness in the world.

The only drama I've ever seen address that sort of abuse was Japan's Innocent Love (sort of) and Taiwanese Mars (very explicitly). Not sure I want to add a third drama to the list - too horrifying.

Gals on CU soompi thread are saying HS told EJ at the end of the ep (after time jump) that she and Ki Hoon are dating.

started to go all OH MY GOD YESSSS!!! on Prosecutor Princess until I realized it was the wrong guy(Other Guy bores me, sorry) but still, major points for having her cry and for having hero look on. mmmm. delic.

Also ironic as I JUST posted earlier today wondering how they were going to introduce angst into her life since her life is so stable and angst-less.

I like Other Guy (he's my rl type :P) but don't ship him with heroine. I do like that hero got to angst because he saw her in another man's arms and he was too late to rescue her, too.

I haven't liked HS from the start, but I am kind of contrary and apparently the actress is getting a lot of hate comments? So not on. but again, this might be just a publicity trick.

Prosecutor Princess: the other guy looked much better as GenChoi.

The actress is doing a good job. I am not keen on HS but Seo Woo herself I like.

Achingly perfect is such an apt description of the OTP moments in episode 3 because they really made my heart ache. And the sock scene, I actually awwwed throughout that scene. I don't know what it is about this OTP but I love them desperately.
