Oh My Lady ep 5 - I am in looooooove

You guys, I am so giddy over ep 5 of Oh My Lady, it's ridiculous. I enjoyed the first 3 eps and really really liked the 4th one but with ep 5 it's official, crushworthy love. Maybe it's because while it's still hilarious, genuine emotions are there. And also, all of a sudden the chemistry between Siwon and Chae Rim got turned on and oh my. I basically spent the entire episode alternately laughing, drooling, sighing, swooning
I totally adore their interactions btw - because she totally bosses him (and occasionally he bosses her back - it's a deliciously equal ping-pong dynamic) but she is also the only person around who is genuinely nice to him for him - not because she wants something from him, or because he's a meal ticket, or because he's hot and she's hormonal. Nah, when she tries to cheer him up it's because she likes him or feels sorry for him, not anything else.
So many scenes I loved - the singing in the car scene (ahahahahahaha and eeeeee), the way she dragged him out of bed in the morning, the 'crying on cue' scene, the scene with the little girl asleep in the car, the scene when she was trying to cook breakfast quietly, the scene where he was imitating her (ahahahahaha), the scene where he had her buy that expensive dress for her daughter, and of course, above all, the final scene of the ep. I thought I was going to explode of glee, shippiness and hormonal overload.
I really really really loved how she stood up for him to his slimeball manager and neither she nor manager knew but he overheard. And then he came in and told slimeball to let her go and when he wouldn't and also insinuated that they were sleeping together, he punched the guy out, took her by the hand and walked out. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
She gets awesome new hair in next ep!
Especially now the fugly hair was gone, a guy would have to be blind not to notice the gorgeousness that's an additive to the awesomeness package. Or, more succinctly - shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip!
Something that just occurred to me - Korea is a patriarchal society and so during a divorce custody determination the custody automatically goes to the father, unless something major is going on. The fact that Geum Hwa's daughter is in her custody just proves how awfully deadbeat and slimeball her ex is - because the only reason GH has the kid is because the ex didn't even want her.
Also - a little cynical voice in the back of my head is telling me that Min Woo is absolutely right to be terrified of his career ending. Now, I know it's a fluffy romcom so he is going to have a happy ending and have his cake and eat it too. But in real life? If it was revealed a star had an out-of-wedlock child and also married a nobody 8 years older than him? Especially if the star in question is famous for being this huge sex-symbol with a fanbase of insane teens? Yeah. Min Woo would have to kiss his career good-bye faster than the speed of light. He'd just have to hope he earned enough $$$ to last him for the rest of his life.

I also loved that she can totally make him do what she wants - if bossing doesn't work, look how quickly he snapped to when she sniffled. Heeeee.

I also like how they don't drag things out so far (like the obnoxious secondary girl got busted in her lie basically immediately).
Oh, and her ex is SUCH a deadbeat! Ugh. I kinda like the contrast with Min Woo who sucks at Daddyhood but has the excuse of just learning this huge bombshell and actually is thawing already - he's not that swift but he's really nice at base. Jerk had the kid for ages and presumably wanted her, too. ugh.
Oh, how do I love Geum Hwa's fangirl friend? When she asks for pics of abs and Geum Hwa rolls her eyes and is all "ugh, I wish to stop seeing them already." LOLOLOLOL.
Also, is it just me or were those dancer guys implying that before he hit it big, Minwoo was making a living with older ladies? *raises eyebrows* I do know a lot of Korean stars got where they got with the initial help of a 'sponsor' so maybe I am reading into it but...

Still hate douchebag father. Min Woo, to me, gets a lot of leeway because not only was this sudden responsibility dumped on him but his ineptitude is understandable -- he's never been a father before and a mute five year old isn't someone he can dazzle with a smile and call it a day. He's a fish out of water, totally useless. But douchebag father has no such excuses.

Fine, he doesn't remember she's allergic to soymilk - but who the heck gives it to a kid instead of breakfast? I really felt so bad for Geum Hwa trying to make the best of it for the sake of the kid and saying it's because father cares. But I loved that she then called her ex and bawled him out (Min Woo can learn how to be a decent dad simply by paying attention and not doing things the ex does! :P)

I know it's a lot to ask but she has no problem asking everything else of him in their many many contracts -- why she doesn't ask for what matters most?

She's brash but she isn't stupid - Min Woo is barely adjusting to having his own kid there (it was in the beginning of the ep when he got so bad he told her and Ye Eun to get out - sure, he didn't mean it and it was just an angry flash of temper, but can she rely on that?) I think if she asked to have her own kid there, he may certainly break it all off (or maybe not, since he's slowly lerning how scummy her ex is, but she doesn't know that he's seen her, even if the audience does). Other than the initial 'perform in a play', all the other things she's asked are pretty small - stop by grocery store, drive to X place etc. It's totally different.
2. Ex may be a scummy deadbeat but I don't think she ever realized how awful he'd be as a father until the kid went to live with him without GH to supervise (especially since she probably wants her kid to grow up having a decent relationship with her father). I think the more she learns, the more intolerable it will become.
So I think ultimately the kid will end up moving in sometime (and I don't mean when she becomes Mrs Dim But Studly but before in the drama) but not yet...
Oh, dear! I should be ashamed of myself. I think I'll go watch the shirtless massage so I can come to a better understanding of his... brain.
