I am not sure I care for the new Doctor Who or the new Doctor himself, character-wise or looks-wise (Matt Smith is less hideous in motion but still, that face takes some getting used to).

But being shallow I think I can ship them - they have oodles of chemistry and this being Moffat, I see make-outs in their future :P

If I bother to watch more eps, that is. I really didn't care for the pilot - awfully uneven (some good bits and some complete junk) and pretty grating in places. Basically, if Mr Mousie wants to watch more, I'll watch with him but if not - am not sure.

The good thing is - I don't feel at all as if it's a connection of the Nine/Ten seasons so it doesn't bother me, not seeing familiar faces or tropes. I don't really care what they do with Eleven because it rather feels like an AU, emotionally, to me.

I watched this last night and I think that it was a bit uneven. But, the thing is - it is very much not the Who of Nine/Ten. It's very new. I saw some intense chemistry between Eleven/Amy, but I'm sure there will be no make-outs or even that much hugging/hand holding. Moffat is known for not liking the romantic aspects that were brought in with Nine and Ten.

But...but...but...he wrote the Silence in the Library ep, where Alex Kingston was Ten's super-OTP and quasi-wife, and the Blitz eps which had Nine/Rose waltzing, and the Madame Pompadour as true love ep and and and...

I think he likes shipping just fine :P

I agree with those feelings...
He is new and will get some time for me to get used to. I do like Moffat as a writer so here's hoping. I do like Amy ! His face is bothering me less XD

Yes, I was surprised how his face was so much better in motion.

About David Tennant's doctor ...the only girl I liked was Freema Agyeman(Martha Jones),but Mr Moraitika's fav was Donna Noble
About David Tennant...my obssesion for him was overcome just by my Kim Nam Gil obsession( God DT he was super smexy in Casanova)...his "je ne sais quoi" ...drives me crazy....and the icy on the cake....he kissed John Barrowman (he is gay)=Captain Jack Harkness OMG the gay thing is the trick that always gets me in:D

this one should be at least good looking...but he doesn't have the charisma...maybe not yet...

I liked it! Although I see why people might take time getting used to the new Who. It's not just a new Doctor. I think I'm more attached to the show and its premise rather than the actors, that's why I'm very forgiving of it. That said, I do love me some DT.

I was never much of a Who fan - I only started with RTD reimagining - Mr Mousie who is a classic Who fan says it's going back to basics, but am not sure it's my thing.

First episode of Who I watched & I enjoyed it ... then, I love the new creator/head writer Moffat and his earlier works include two of my most favourite tv-shows.

Not sure if I'm gonna watch the earlier series (yet) but I'm definitely gonna keep watching this because it was just so much fun.

I haven't even seen it , but I am sure I'll like, I will just wait for more eps and marathon. For me David Tennant was always the ugliest man alive (can't be worse than that?) and the worst actor in Britain, so I guess it will be improvement by default. None of Doctors I have seen so far were even close to good-looking anyways, it is all usually about acting.

Oh man I am so glad it's not just me, I NEVER saw the appeal of Tennant. Either as an actor (I feel he tends to overdo it), a doctor (I had so many issues with Ten, though to be fair they were mostly RTD's fault and not Tennant's) and I dont find him attractive at all! I dont know how he became such a hearthrob in the UK. I think the only time I really liked Ten was when he was traveling with Donna (and we all know how THAT worked out -_-).

Doctors arent supposed to be conventionally good looking I've always felt, and if they are it's sort of a let down, I mean the dorky tacky outfits and quirky behavior and silly looking hair is all part of their appeal! I worried that Matt Smith was too young but when I saw the first episode he really sold it IMO. He's got the aura of a doctor lol and honestly it really reminded of Old Classic Who in a way that RTD's eps and seasons never did. Must have been all that lonely god full of fire, ice&rage bullshit -_- I am more than happy to have Doctor Who go back to being a show about a mad scientist alien man who likes to save earth and travel with humans instead of anything more (and I am so glad to finally be done with the horror that was Ten/Rose).

I think I was sold when Matt Smith used the word "flabbergasted" in his interview last year. And he also spoke with his hands. And yes, I love Doctor as mad scientist, I am in it for quirks. I liked Doctor 9 A LOT.

I dunno Mousie, I think Smith/Eleven is kind of cute but then I also found Eccleston/Nine ten times more attractive than Tennant and it seems that is not the consensus among fangirls. (it's that nose I think, I loved his big nose...and deep voice...and northern accent!) I also dont feel like I have weird daddy issues when I crush on him the way I do when I get crushy on Four or Nine.

Personally I liked the season opener, it was weak and lightweight but I have yet to see a Who season opener in the new series that wasnt. I've been a fan of Moffat's writing since well before now, so I have nothing but faith in his ability to tell a compelling story. and I feel like he is such a fan and really gets and respects the long complicated history of Doctor Who unlike RTD who just did whatever he wanted with the Canon. Elevan and Amy (yay scottish girl <3) also seem like fun, so I'm willing to wait it out and see how it goes.

See, I am not a fan of classic Who. It never interested me much. So I liked RTD's take because it was different. This does look like return to basics but it doesn't interest me :)

I saw his interview on the One Show and I instantly didn't like him. He's absolutely hideous and something about his personality was really irritating.

For some reason though, I like the few scenes that I saw of him playing the Doctor.

Yeah, he's not too bad in motion.
