Oh oh but what about 'Shallow but whip smart lady prosecutor/Shattered workaholic single-father boss whose dead wife she resembles' and 'Determined by-the-books lady prosecutor/Shattered workaholic single-father boss whose daughter is in her care'?
And also, because my slash goggles need a workout, "Sexy angsty ninja out for justice/hot spoiled king'?
General Choi deserves any and all love! There's a teeeeeeeny scene in Ep2 where he's just out of the shower and sits forlornly looking at the portrait of his dead wife wearing only a lap towel.
I will not lie, I squealed.
Well, the first 4 eps are basically DEATH! CONSPIRACY! PLUCKY HEROINE IS PLUCKY! and BAE SOO-BIN! I enjoyed precisely 3/4 of it, based on that breakdown.
Subs are out for the first 2 so we'll see how that goes.
Ahhh, General Choi. I think we were supposed to be feeling his grief but i was feeling something else entirely.
I want him and righteous prosecutor to hook up. They will be all serious and smite the wrong-doers and uphold truth, justice and the Korean way! Meanwhile Hyeri and Sexy Lawyer will be up trading barbs and buying her shoes.
Determined by-the-books lady prosecutor/Shattered workaholic single-father boss whose daughter is in her care'? wait WHAT? is this really the plot of Prosecutor Princess?? Because that hits so many of my kinks!! I was already planning on checking it out, but now...
Yes. Basically, from what I can tell, there will be 2 OTPs.
Main OTP - Heroine prosecutor (who's shallow but super-smart) and mysterious lawyer guy. Secondary OTP - as named. Basically, heroine looks like his dead wife (though personality is nothing like her) so he is sort of attracted to her despite it all. But the very by-the-book capable other lady prosecutor is secretly in love with him and she got her mother to help her take care of his kid and they are friends and I totally think they will end up together.
Partially! This pairing is the beta couple of awesome that I love more than the main couple (mainly because the main couple currently comprises of shallow idiot and mysterious Edward Cullen wannabe). :D
I don't think Hyeri is an idiot at all - she's really smart and ruthless. She isn't invested in her work at all but that's no crime - it's not like she is incompetent or doing anything against stated policies or anything. OMG, PSH is so not Edward Cullen because EC was so emo whiny 12-yr-old die-already and PSH isn't emo and whiny and also is doing his bizarre stuff not for teen lurve of her :)
Okay, I stand corrected! What I meant was that the beta-couple are currently the more conventionally enjoyable of the two OTPs. And I have no doubt that once MHR ups to her A-game things are going to be awesomely different. :D
... I still find PSH's stalking slightly creepy, sorry.
Plus I think her wardrobe is a wacky spot of cheer amidst all that navy and black.
I don't find it creepy because (bizarrely) he isn't doing it because he luuuuuurves her. The lurve stalking would freak me out. I do want to know WHY he is doing it (please be for revenge!)
I enjoy Hyeri/Park Shi Hoo better just because they look like they have fun. I can't imagine poor General Choi/proper lady prosecutor bickering in fun :)
And I have no doubt that once MHR ups to her A-game things are going to be awesomely different. :D
OH GOD YES. She's already awesome at putting people in their place (when serious prosecutor lady talks to her about her clothes or serious prosecutor man talks to her about being easier on her clients). To the point where she literally silences her opponents; they honestly have no comebacks. So I can't wait to see her in court, owning everyone.
I honestly don't think she's that horrible. Yes, she's really obsessed with fashion and having an easy life but you can see that she's whip smart and she's not mean. All she needs is a teeny bit of humanity and a nice dose of good work ethics. I'm actually surprised by how much I ended up liking her.
I'm actually surprised by how much I ended up liking her.
I totally agree, and I think it's largely thanks to how Kim So Yeon's playing her. She has that quirky way of tilting her head and talking like she clearly has NO IDEA why you're picking on her, because she thinks she's right, and honestly doesn't really care what you think. It's kind of awesome and while some people might think she's an idiot, it's more like she's off in her own world. It's rather endearing, really.
Is that the "PHAS" or w/e group? Because if it is, they're actually sekritly Viikii people. I have no idea why they decided to change their name and release elsewhere, but there you go :P
Ah. I'm stuck on TSKS for Chinese subs because the other groups get things wrong, which then creates a cascade of wrong info ending in the recaps and readers being confused.
Heehee, I remember when you first did a poll like this, Cinderella Unni had low to mid results. Now it's a definite winner.
I'm still planning on checking out A Man Called God. I have the first few episodes downloaded. It can't be that bad.
Birth Of A Rich Man? Not with a 10 foot pole. I haven't heard one good thing about it, which is disappointing since the female heroine sounded like someone I'd love.
For me: I'm watching Cinderella's Unni, Personal Taste, and Prosecutor Princess. I'm watching Oh My Lady on and off, but it hasn't grabbed me. I may check out OML fully when it's finished; along with Birth of the Rich and Dong Yi.
I'm enjoying the three dramas I'm watching now at varying degrees:
CU is my new obsession and it's killing them that Eun Jo may go "evil" or that Hye Sun make seek "revenge" against Eun Jo - just because there is no real reason for either to do anything to the other yet. I'm so interested to see what would push either girl over the edge. Also - my OTP of the season is in this drama.
PP, I watched the first episode last night. Lots of chemistry between the OTP and a fun script. But, I'm a bit worried the female lead could become over-the-top and annoyingly bitchy. I may wait for more episodes before really watching. This is a series about a person growing up, so I'd like to know she does grow up before watching too much.
PT is really cute and all, but I'm getting shades of Coffee Prince - a show that started off brilliantly, but was dragging and repeating itself over and over again by episode seven or so. Still, I like the scripts and characters in PT, so I'll watch as the subs come out.
The two I'm keeping up with are Prosecutor Princess and OML. I like both, but it's mainly because I'm stuck on subbing duty for them, LOL. You know the drama is a fun one when you burn your eyeballs out timing it, but even though you've rewinded every single line 3-4 times, you're still not sick of the drama.
PSH and KSY look like they'll be cute together, and oh man, I can't wait until she shapes up a bit and starts pwning some ass.
I initially wouldn't have touched CU with a 10-foot pole, but given all the positive reviews I've heard, maybe I need that touch of angst to balance out this crazy romcom-fest. I'm tempted to try A Man Called God to see whether it's so-bad-it's-good, but... so many dramas, so little time!

If that happens, I would die of joy. :)
Btw, I am starting DY tonight - preview for ep 5 totally sold me.
