First, for anyone who is interested, the hugely, hugely "big deal" audio tape of BW superstars Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai has just proven to be fake. The tape (for those who don't know but are interested) had drunk "Salman" call "Aishwarya" (who was his girlfriend at the time) and repeatedly boast of Mafia connections (and even running the Mafia), threaten Aishwarya with severe bodily harm, use really horrible language while describing other BW stars putting out for him (I am being euphemistic here), and also take the blame for the Bombay riots. I was surprised he didn't mention killing Gandhi, at the rate the tape was going. The tape "surfaced" a few days before the opening of his latest movie and there was the jolly fun of protesters burning his posters, theaters cancelling showtimes, and members of legislature demanding him immediately be put in jail under anti-terrorism act and similar. Apparently the cops sent the tape to whoever deals with that stuff and they said the voices were fake. Which makes me rather happy, as I'd prefer to think better of SK's intelligence, if not his morals. But also really curious about who would want to fabricate the tape in the first place...

Pics of Salman and Aishwarya, in case anyone is interested:

Also, just because, this banner is my favorite moment from my favorite Bollywood movie (that has no Salman or Aishwarya, btw):

Wow, and I thought American stardom was weird. X_X;; I have no idea why someone would want to make a tape like that either-- especially since it sounds like some of the things were approaching. If you were going to go to all that trouble, wouldn't you want to make it believable. Running the entire Mafia? Yeesh.

At least the tape was prooved fake.

Best part was that the tape was supposedly several hours long. I can maybe buy creating a fake prank call. But several hours of mostly boring conversation? => nutty!

I know...that's crazy. But I don't think most of it was "boring" considering a lot of it involved disreputable (if not illegal) stuff. Somebody somewhere must really not like Salman, which is...I mean, the guy is no angel, but that's really a horrible thing to do.

Ahh, so they were fake. Well, it was obvious when Ash said it wasn't her voice, because she didn't really have anything to hide. I feel really bad for the things they "said" about Preity too...:(

Yup. It not only dragged Salman and Ash through the mud, but Preity and Dia too...

I knew it was fake.

It never ceases to surprise me just how much some people hate Salman and what lengths they will go to destroy his image. The irony here is that the louder the anti-Salman protests, the more his fans love him.

I'm glad it officially turned out to be fake, yay for Salman. Every star that has worked with him goes on and on about wonderful and warm he is - it's weird how he gets into so many controversies.

That banner might not have Aishwarya or Salman in it, but it does have Shah Rukh Khan with the most fantabulously poofy hair ever.

I'm glad the tape was fake. I had a feeling it was. I don't really care about celebrity's personal lives. What they do, good or bad, is their own business. Can't beleave everything you hear until you have concrete proof of it.

Salman looks extra yummy in that pic. :) Who knew glasses could be that sexy.

I know. That's actually my favorite Salman pic. He looks like a sexy librarian. All the beefcake shirtless stuff is nice, but this is way sexier...
