Behind the cut is my proof that the person DG is obsessed with is not Un Nyun but Tae Ha

:P

But first a little bit of my beloved Tae Ha/Hye Won ship. They are so one of my top 5 kdrama OTPs.

Anyway, back to proof. Did you think DG was staring at Un Nyun by the fire? Jealous General Choi would disagree.

Look how he changes when he notices. "Have I been removed from DG's affection? After all my shirtlessness?"

True Stare of Love

Un Nyun tries to distract her hunky husband from Dae Gil's hotness with food.

Did I mention DG's hotness btw?

I cannot snark about this scene, it made me cry. We have never seen TH this broken except in that flashback with his family. He has such self-control but he keeps losing and losing everything - things and people - that he holds dear. And he still won't kill the soldiers (!!!!) just hit them with the blunt side of his sword. Oh, Tae Ha. I love that no matter how hard you are pushed, you refuse to give up any bit of your humanity.

Did I mention DG decided to tag along on TH's trip? Rather thans stay with UN? I rest my case :)

Look how awesome they are together! I don't think we have ever seen DG this happy in the present and for TH only rarely - when UN said yes to his proposal but other than that not much.

Oh, how I love them taking on the bad guys side by side. And TH totally winks at DG and DG grins back at him.

In other news, I watched ep 17 with subs and it was so wonderful. I especially loved all the conversations between DG and TH in prison. I really really loved TH's take on what one should do - to live passionately and die with honor. Oh yes. And his comment that love is sharing vissicitudes together. Can I love the man even more? Oh yes yes I can. He is now my biggest kdrama love, tied for first place with Kim Hyun Joon in IRIS.

Oh, and Un Nyun/Hye Won is one of the most awesome heroines ever. She is so tough and smart and resourceful. Amazing.

And you know, I remember all the "He given up on lifeeeeeeee!" remarks and I just can't believe that anyone can say that - if anything, I found the whole convo v.v. life-affirming. And I loved DG's look on life too - it is like both are right, and if and when they meet in the middle /join forces this is going to be a killer team.

And his comment that love is sharing vissicitudes together.

This is the moment I loved too - DG was all "Oh, why did you drag her to Jeju - it was unsafe!" and TH gave that killer answer and I just can't like him more: no matter how many times he saved UN , he still views her as equal person. not like feeble woman who has to be "made safe".

Yes, I didn't get the sense he was giving up on life at all - he even said that the pity of it was not being able to choose the time you die (clearly it was not a 'yay, we get to die' type of conversation).

I loved that he also didn't tell DG to bug off as it was none of his business or explained the situation more fully (she was on the run and being with him was by far the safest place to be). No, he just made that incredible comment, and so matter-of-factly. I could not love him more!

Also, the scene in the torture chamber - CW wasn't even questioning him, he was just enjoying torturing him. All that envy - cannot be good - it's like he has this permanent inferiority complex even if he is a commander at the compound and Left State Counsillor's son-in-law and TH is this escaped slave, tortured guy on the run. It's his 'look at meeeeee, how awesome I am, but the men still call you General' attitude - it's as if he is jealous that TH is this amazing hero even though the reason he is, is because he's earned it - he did heroic things and suffered horribly for them. I think the only thing that will make CW happy is not to see TH dead but to see him broken (that is why the torture), so CW can quelll his inferiority complex. TH just refuses to give him the satisfaction - I bet when TH was a slave and acted like a slave so as not to blow his mission was the happiest time in CW's life because he believed TH was broken so he, CW, was superior.

Even in the torture thing - he lost interest in DG really quickly because he doesn't have any envy towards him. But with TH - he was pissed off when he was taken away!

(Btw - so loved TH comment to DG as to why he wasn't a slave - because he never behaved like a slave in his heart. And that makes me believe CW is a slave forever).

Yea, and how DG was asking and asking why TH didn't kill HIM (huh! I thought it was very telling as to who is the better fighter argument) but TH didn't explain it back then.

Yes, you are right - CW wanted to break TH (not as if he could, anyways) he wanted to break his knees and all (keep your grabby hands off TH's knees, CW!) , he wanted TH to be his slave again. Brrrr! Now I am sure - TH has to kill CW and DG has to be there to see if and pat him on the back (because knowing TH he will feel bad about it).

Yes, it was.

And I love that TH didn't tell. One of the things I love about TH, I realized btw, is that he is a reserved man who has a lot of self-control. He is no frozen robot (he can be so happy in his quiet way with UN or grieve fiercely over his dead comrades) but he never lets it all hang out. I am not Korean so while I don't mind extravagant male displays of emotion (a la DG), I am always going to go for the self-controlled guys.

(keep your grabby hands off TH's knees, CW!)

I laughed so hard at this comment! Maybe he wants to make sure TH can never run away from his luuuuurve? :)

But seriously - that whole scene in the torture chamber was awful. You are right in your other comment - when he said the officers were just TH's men because they only obeyed TH's orders? Ummm, if CW was their equal in rank, why would they obey him? It's not a personal slight, CW, it's how the army operates.
