dangermousieI don't know how many of you realize it but I have a positively unhealthy obsession with Park Shi Hoo (How to Meet a Perect Neighbor, Iljimae, upcoming Prosecutor Princess). Maybe ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
mishane will understand me.
I have spent most of Iljimae wishing he was the one to get the girl and that the drama was about him (and seeing that the male lead was Lee Jun Ki, that's quite a feat). I get a sort of fluttery feeling when I see him on my screen.
And that brings me to Family Honor and my dilemma. He is the leading man in that one, in love with a young widow. It's by the writer of Perfect Neighbor and Pick the Stars, two dramas I am in love with.
So what is the problem? That puppy is 54 episodes. 54 freaking episodes. I am not sure I can survive this even for Park Shi Hoo.
What to do? What to do?
Ahhh, yes. A watchalong.

Let me tell you, I used to dislike watching angst-related plots, BUT this angsty love between Kang Suk & Dan Ah is pure bliss.
And yes, watching PSH cry (but in such a manly way) over his conflicted love for his OTP...especially from ep 33 onwards....just moved me to tears.

Ha Dan Ah is my all time favorite heroine. You are going to LOVE her.
I`ve already watched this 3 or 4 times – that is how much I love this drama.
So I`ll watch it again with you.

Date: 2010-03-10 12:51 pm (UTC)I think it meets your every single Kdrama preference. 54 eps weren't too bad because I liked all the other family stories too (this was different from "Three Brothers" where I liked OTP but hated everyone else).
If I find softsubs I will do a rewatch . I have been even contemplating buying this, it was so awesome.

All the cartoony OTT stuff wasn't my bag but his repressed angsty believes-he's-in-love-wht-halfsis character was so very very good. (Bizarrely, I thought that Return of Iljimae was Iljimae if Shi Ho was the main character. No wonder I liked RoI)

AND, there is angst (so you'll love it...)
AND, Park Shi Hoo has these little dances .... soooooooo sexy!!!!! (Really it's the first time I found a man so sexy dancing....)
AND, the heroine IS awfully GREAT!!!!!

No shenanigans I hate, no annoying plot I curse, no disgusting characters I want to bite (there were still some moments I wanted to knock some sense into some characters. But that’s related to theirs own flaws and they changed in a convincing way later. So I told myself to be more patient). The OTP are THAT GREAT, and other couples are adorable enough. It’s a wonder for me in 2009 kdrama world. Also Park Shi Hoo gained himself many good points both in acting and popularity. He is already HOT enough alone, and even HOTTER with Yoon Jung Hee.
So, rewatch? Yes!
