"Sometimes I really really love my job!"
Mar. 4th, 2010 12:50 pmI bet Chul Woong was dying to say it all during episode 17 of Chuno otherwise known as "Welcome to Torturestan".

Seriously. It's as if the makers of Chuno watched IRIS and decided they can do it one better. Large chunks of ep 17 were occupied by loving close-ups of our protagonists being tortured while Chul Woong (who I swear must be a secret fangirl, seeing the way he was fondling Dae Gil's abs and enjoying Tae Ha's writhing) smirked at the fun he was having and contrived to add to the party atmosphere.
Have some caps.
Smirky Dae Gil. That's OK, enjoy your defiance for a bit.

Tae Ha's reaction: "I am with Crazy."

OK, I know Chul Woong was supposed to be demonstrating pressure points but the way he was lingeringly trailing his fingers down Dae Gil's abs (who could blame him?) was something else entirely. All of a sudden I felt I was transported into Fushigi Yuugi! Him slapping Dae Gil around the face before punching various pressure points didn't help.

"Yup, I am still with Crazy."

You can tell Chul Woong is thinking "so much fun, so little time!"

You know, the way Chul Woong glommed onto torturing Tae Ha (as opposed to torturing Dae Gil which he wasn't nearly as interested in) and went all out, removing his hat as if he was prepared to relax and really enjoy himself now, made me think the root of all his evil is his unrequited love for Tae Ha! He can't even admit it to himself so he goes all resentful and super-sensitive and thinks TH is being haughty with him - cue his always present inferiority-complex, betrayal, torturing etc. Hah! :)

Dae Gil is still out. Not the time for sleeping, buddy!

That is a face of a man who truly loves his work!

On a more serious note, I loved that he wasn't able to break Tae Ha despite his best efforts. And when Tae Ha snarls at him that he wishes he killed CW when he had the chance and CW replies that now he is free of the obligation he was under to TH for saving his (CW's) life? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME. In what universe is framing, torturing, enslaving, humiliating, then chasing, trying your best to kill him, killing his friends, and then more torturing is repayment of a life debt?

May be.. he wasn't just able to bring himself to damage such a body. :D
But yep, I think his problem is wanted more from TH but TH being fair as he is didn't make anyone a favourite.

I really think so (because of his insecurity he seems to need excessive validation). And he knows he is wanting (look at how he was the only one who didn't join the suicidal battle to free Prince Suheyeon) so he craves validation all the more.

Date: 2010-03-04 07:32 pm (UTC)I love it! Even if I am hopelessly confused by now as to which of the two guys I love more.
