But much as I love him, I am all about JWS in this one - I have SUCH a crush on him and never in a million years did I think to see him in a drama.

IRIS is my second fave drama (after Worlds Within)but I was fine with IRIS2 beint crappy - but now I am almost as excited for IRIS2 as I was for the original.

He has been in a few action-y thriller movies like: The Big Scene (Murder, Take One), Eye for an Eye and his most recent, Secret. ;)

Eye for an Eye is on my list of k-movies to watch. Might take it on one of these days.... I just realised I've actually watched one CSW film, Blood Rain. Oddly enough it's also action-y thriller (with supernatural undertones) set in 1800's. :)

OMPH! They managed to get JWS! He hasn't been in dramas for 15 years! EEE! I hope they will get a good leading lady too , I am not very impressed by Kim Tae Hee.

I like KTH in IRIS (but I like her in general) but I am very curious who they are going to get. I was wondering if they can even afford to get anyone A-list after whatever it is they had to pay JWS to get him on-board :P

I feel like I've seen JWS in something (going off to look at his wiki) but I honestly don't know either of the actors that well. :/

Apparently he was in Red Cliff?? I JUST saw that but I don't remember him! Huh.

I hope the female lead will be awesome. PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE. KTH was the reason I didn't really want to watch the first one.

RC had so many people - I didn't rec anyone aside from Tony Leung and Takeshi Kaneshiro.

If you want to check him out, I strongly rec Musa - it's with him, Joo Jin Mo and Zhang Ziyi. It's an awesome (if bleak) period epic about a group of exiled Korean warriors protecting a Chinese princess. He plays this kinda-insane warrior slave and oooooooh - yeah. He looks good.

Re: leading Lady. I actually liked KTH in IRIS (but I like KTH in general, that's a post for another day) but I keep wondering about the leading lady like mad. I kinda want Ha Ji Won, because she was so kickass in Damo. Or maybe they can just have an epic love story btw two male protags :P

I've never actually seen KTH in anything so my wariness was based on just articles; apparently she was known more for her looks than her acting skills. So I'm just being judgey. I'm starting IRIS like this week so now I'll be able to judge for myself.

OH MAN, I can't think of leading ladies now! Ummmmm, I'm more of a Jun Ji Hyun fan, I really want to see her in a drama, but that will probably NEVER happen. How awesome would that be though, if you have two actors who haven't done dramas in forever, doing their first drama together? WOOT WOOT!

I think KTH is an average actress. She is not blow-your-socks amazing but she isn't a wooden plank like Dambi for example. She knows how to pick roles that play to her strengths though and the main reason that I love her is that in a dramaworld full of weak/silly/man-crazed heroines, she's played 3 strong, intelligent, competent women in 3 dramas I've seen her in - IRIS, Nine Tailed Fox (where she is basically Vamp Buffy), and Love Story in Harvard (boring drama but her character is awesome - a brilliant medical student who is career-focused and even though she loves the hero, she leaves after their night together because she just got an awesome career opportunity in Doctors without Borders. And she is not demonized for it, and eventually they meet again and marry and live happily ever after).

ETA: There were rumors of JJH in an Absolute Boyfriend remake and before that a drama with Rain - neither happened but you never know, she may come back to dramas some day.

Like, maybe a female IRIS drama?? A Korean version of Koshonin? I'd die.

She ends up with Kim Rae Won right? I never really wanted to see that, the story sounded boring and I never thought Kim Rae Won was attractive *hides from his admirers*.

I like KRW to bits but even I wouldn't rec LiH (KRW has a tendency to do dramas that do really well but don't interest me, with some exceptions).

Re: JJH. That rumored Rain drama sounded very good actually - she was going to be a foreign correspondent and he a mercenary and it was going to be shot all over. But alas. As to AbBf - whyyyy? I like the manga, hated the jdrama, think it would make a decent kdrama, and I think no A-list person should star in it.

If JJH didn't have some a modern vibe, I'd say a period drama - a woman-centric one like the upcoming one about a merchant lady, or Da Jang Geum or Hwang Ji Ni or whatever - those always have the strongest, most complex female roles. Though seeing how thoroughly very modern Oh Ji Ho fits into Chuno, maybe she could fit in.

I've liked JWS in all of the films I've managed to watch so far ('The Good, The Bad and The Weird' + 'A Moment to Remember' are still on the list to be watched). He was great in both 'Daisy' and 'The Restless' also though the films themselves had some issues. Oh man, The Restless was so odd.... beautiful but odd. ;)
