I still don't know if I'll be able to sit through the period drama Dong Yi (named after a woman who rose from a maid to being the King's concubine and mother of the next king) because it will probably be 80 billion eps long, but I can't say I am not drooling all over these costumes and the art direction. It's gorgeous.

In other news, I am still madly excited for the upcoming Oh My Lady which will replace my darling Pick the Stars. Divorced mothers managing prickly younger stars FTW!

Very pretty costumes. I prefer traditional Chinese costumes on the whole (Gold! Red! Brocade!), but Hanboks look so comfy to me.

Oh! Is that the drama with Siwon? Count me in if there's some gratuitous shirtlessness! (It is my opinion that Siwon should always be shirtless ;P )

This is totally random, but I went to this Catholic church the other day, and they had a painting of a Korean man dressed like the last period picture you posted and laying his hand on a Bible. I couldn't stop laughing, it was so hilarious!

Yeah - I don't know, I may overdose on sageuks. But then this looks so different from Chuno. Even though the heroine is supposed to be a slave who became a queen.
