SQUEEEEEEEE I LOVE YOU LAWYER AHJUSSHI!!!!!

The scene with Tae Kyu's proposal to Pal Kang was so awesome I was on the edge of my chair - because old Pal Kang would have jumped at the romance of it all (I don't think she cared who would have been her Prince Charming as long as he acted like one) but this new Pal Kang knows she does not love him and they are not compatible and she is very sorry but it won't sway her. And then there is Kang Ha, who totally lost all his cool - and he does not realize what his reaction means but everyone else around him does. And PK's quick look at him during the proposal - hmmm, do I sense some hope for my ship? And secondary guy remains creepy manipulative freak (but about that more below).

And then this awesome sequence of scenes follows. OMGOMGOMG chemistry. And he is so GONE. (I especially love his reaction to remembering the proposal).

He is so happy to find Parang has sleepwalked into his room. Awwwww. This episode finally implies why he likes Parang the best - Mr. Icy Perfectionist Lawyer totally sees his young self in walking disaster zone, earnest Parang. Awwww.

Ok, he is totally ready to be a quasi-parent to Pal Kang's brood - the scene where Parang volunteers to clean his prized music room and causes all sorts of mischief (my favorite being his ruining a record and the kids freak out going 'is it expensive?' and poor Kang Ha is all "no, I was going to throw it out because I listened to it too often." Awwww). And Kang Ha removes him bodily and plops him on a desk chair telling him Parang can help out by playing a computer game. EEEE. And unlike Tae Gyu who does things to earn brownie points with Pal Kang or Secondary Guy who is a manipulative horrible freak, Kang Ha does it because he likes Parang :)

Plotty shower of angst. I approve.

It comes out Pal Kang was a bar hostess and Secondary Hag is all 'this is cause for firing' and Kang Ha smirks at her and is all 'I know more about law then you do, if you try, you are going to have to face me.' YES. And then tells her my subject line when she is all appalled he is sticking up for a floozy. Down with double standards, Kang Ha! :)

I loved this scene so much.

OK, Secondary Guy. It's one thing to try to seduce a girl your brother likes in hopes that would free him up for Secondary Hag (whaaaaa? He disliked her for a decade before he even met Pal Kang). It's one thing to try to seduce a girl your brother likes as some sort of creepy revenge for an ex who left you for him. Whatever. It makes you a lousy sibling but it's not psycho territory. You know what IS psycho territory? Not caring that these nifty little plans involve another human being - THE GIRL. And not just any girl, but a woman who is desperately trying to claw her way to keep herself and her five little siblings from starving on the streets. What kind of a sick &^%$ does that? If your socially retarded brother has to point it out and warn you? You fail as a human being. I do love that not just Kang Ha but Pal Kang sees through it - she does not know why he is doing it but she can tell it's a game for Secondary Guy. I hope Secondary Hag's Mother hires someone to run over you next.

And we meet Kang Ha's mother (it turns out he and Secondary Guy are half-siblings through the father) and oh my God. She is horrifying. Anyone who did what she did to their kid deserves to fry in a very special kind of fire. Not that she seems to have let up. DIEDIEDIEDIE. So much about Kang Ha is explained after meeting his mother - both his bad qualities (prior to Pal Kang and her brood not caring about anyone) and his good ones (adherence to a code and a total refusal of BS). Awful evil woman die in a fire, please. Selling your little kid for $$$ and bargaining the whole way in front of him and telling him you dislike him and prefer your men to him as he is begging you to take him with you and clinging? Mother of the Year you are. Bonus points for trying to leech off him repeatedly.

And then we get the hug/quasi-kiss I posted earlier. OMG, what he told her was not to make him worry. EEEEEE!

Previews promise me crazy Secondary Hag throwing a glass of water in his face. She is sort of insane.

It also promises me this!

Aaaaand he's gone. And not a moment too soon; we're 11 eps in, and time's a wasting.

LOLOLOLOL. He is going to have to work haaaaard. I am looking forward to it.

Don't forget that the plotty shower of angst was preceded by a plotty treadmill workout of angst! Hee.

If he works out more, he is going to break something!

This is so the season for hot angsty lawyers btw - between this, Autumn's Concerto and Down with Love, sexy lawyers are clearly the newest flavor :P

KH's mother is horrid - I get visceral reactions now to that sort of stuff due to Baby Mousie. Ugh.

I can't figure out which of them is more psycho at this point.

Secondary Girl for my money. At least Secondary Guy sort of recognizes reality. You know one thing I love? So many dramas have the hero first in love with secondary girl or too nice to really shrug her off or whatever but not here. EEEEE! (This drama is written by the writer of How to Meet a Perfect Neighbor and apparently it had that quality too).

I can safely say that lawyers are more expensively dressed nerds than, er, sexy, contrary to what popular culture would have you believe. Sad, but true.

Hey! Mr Mousie is a super-sexy lawyer! It's my favorite fictional profession for a very very personal reason :)

I am glad they don't show him working - how boring would it be to have him research causes of action for insurance fraud or similar. I can sort of buy him as a workaholic - more so than other kdrama guys who are supposed to be one - at least he isn't shown having super-much free time.

What I want to know is - does a huge company only have one lawyer? And if he is their equivalent of GC, shouldn't he have other staff to boss?

My sister and brother in law are lawyers and ALL their friends are lawyers, and their parties are SO boring! LOL. My sister used to pretend to be something else when she was younger because the reaction when she introduced herself to new people was usually "oh, how boring!"

But I am so in love with this show!!!!!!!!!! I am not on episode 11 or 12 yet but I am sucking up all spoilers like a sponge. I am so looking forward to the second part of this show. It's going to be great!

Keep the picspams coming, Mousie!

Seeing Kang Ha falling for Pal Kang, brings to mind, images of her and her siblings, felling a BIG tree in some kdrama forest and Parang shouting 'Tiiiiiiimbeeeeeerrrrrrrrr!'

I am a bit concerned about how KH seems to have fallen so fast. We got a montage of their past moments, and suddenly, he's cracked! But hey ho!

Instead of doing car-spotting everytime i watch a drama, i might start doing shower-spotting. infinitely more exciting methinks!

I think it took him a bit after that montage but I am glad at the speed - I hate dramas where it takes too long. Plus, what else could he do - there's nothing in his life at all - just work, music room, or liquor shots. It's a wonder he didn't fall as soon as his shell cracked :)

Shower spotting is infintely more rewarding!

I think second brother actions are really repulsive... But does he have ANY feelings for Pal-kang at all? I don't really understand him.
And I felt so bad for poor, sweet and innocent Tae Kyu.

The mother got my first "I hate this person" reaction in a drama. Usually I can find an (even really remote and tiny, tiny) excuse but not for her. She is soooooo completely selfish and cruel (I can imagine the hurt of her 5 years old boy!)
SOMEONE KILLS HER!

As for Secondary Hag, she is just pathetic. Doesn't she have ANY self-esteem?????

The mother is beyond horrid.

As to Secondary Hag? She must be on drugs, I can't explain it any other way.

I think Jun Ha has some feelings for PK (probably more than he thinks), but not much.

I feel very uncomfortable about those scenes Jun Ha tried to win Pal Kang and the children. There’s no SINCERITY in his actions. Maybe I draw the conclusion too early. Maybe he will redeem himself later not in a way viewers are supposed/forced to understand him. But now, he is disturbing and annoying.

’Don’t play tricks on that family. That woman isn’t someone you can play with.’ Kang Ha is completely RIGHT! He is mature. He has common sense. He really can THINK and ACT. As I said earlier, Kang Ha is responsible and reliable. The more I watch, the more I confirm it. I won’t simple judge that Kang Ha is greatly suitable for that family. But he does get a good mark for that.

The scene when Pal Kang, Jun Ha and the children came home with the presents and then Pal Kang gave Kang Ha a look with a little anxiousness, is a hint. Pal Kang values Kang Ha’s opinion (what may he think of me and the children?). Would Pal Kang bother by that idea? Maybe I overact, but I am really happy about that. I want the bond between Kang Ha and the family (Pal Kang, more importantly) gets stronger and stronger. Romance should blossom, too. Speed up, naturally.

About the last scenes Kang Ha told Pal Kang not to make him worry. I haven’t watched the Eng-subs version but Chinese-subs. I am not sure about the English translations quality. I just interpret Kang Ha’s words in my own way: Even you come to disturb me! Don’t disturb me! Don’t confuse me! (Kang Ha, you know what hide behind those words? WHY THAT WOMAN CAN INFLUENCE YOU? Figure out that question with your good brains!) He spoke in a drunk and emotional tone, hugged (!) and moved to a kiss (!!). It is abnormal and rare. Even with fatal and poisonous mother-issue (that’s an old brand in kdrama world, good for heroes, right?) involved and given a few foreshadowing scenes, I suspect Kang Ha would behave like that, indulging himself to that level, though I don’t complaint. But those last scenes did bring out Kang Ha’s confusion and bewilderment. It works at this point, for me.

I will be satisfied with a mixture of love and family story (of course, healthy family issue).

There’s no SINCERITY in his actions.

Agreed.

Kang Ha has always been reliable and responsible, and now that he's developed a heart, it's a perfect combination to take on PK and her brood. AAAAWWWW.

But those last scenes did bring out Kang Ha’s confusion and bewilderment. It works at this point, for me.

Me too.
