I am so glad it's doing as good or even better than IRIS. Chuno didn't have LBH making a drama return after all so it was a bit more of an underdog.
(I love both, differently. Though it's Tae Ha who's reminding me of LBH's character in IRIS and not Chuno's main character DG - a really good person refusing to give up his goodness however much he's broken).
OH MY POOR HEART. I won't be surprised the brother has to die.
Yes, "Chuno" is doing much better than I expected. I like both Chuno and IRIS differently too. IRIS is a bit low for me on the OTP front - I know you like when OTP falls in love quickly but I don't like this scenario at all. I like furtive glances, touches - the falling in love process. So the whole emotional OTP-dness is missing for me in IRIS. What I like about IRIS is the story, LBH's character (and his muscles) and all the other hot guys (even the evil ones). And yes - TH is a bit like Hyun Joon.
If the brother survives ep 10, I will be shocked (either DG kills him or he kills himself or something else, but he's bound to die). I have to say, the story is moving at a breakneck pace - I am wondering what on earth they will cover in the upcoming 14 eps! Hmm.
I love it when they fall in love early and stay in love - they don't do this in dramas often enough for my tastes! So IRIS shippiness is my idea of heaven.
I don't mind seeing the falling in love part or anything but I prefer dealing with the outside world (or internal conflict as a couple). No idea why though.
I have quickly finished the sub-less ep. 9 - no, I think the brother will survive here. What a shame about the hot bodyguard Danny Ahn!!!
TH/HW scenes are so deliciously OTP. OMPH! I want a kissing scene. I hope they will have a baby at some point and name it DG.

it is interesting! I usually find the dealing with outside world part sweet but it doesn't make my heard beat faster. Because of this I don't really mind stories that aren't resolved in "conventional" way (I mean kissing). As long as I get my UST I am happy.
However, when the guy is too slow to make his mind up (like in "Terroir" ) - I don't like!
I want a kissing scene too! It's supposed to take place on Jeju so sooooooon! Soooooon!
If they have a baby, it will be lovely but I don't know - I hestitate to hope for too much :)
I usually find the dealing with outside world part sweet but it doesn't make my heard beat faster.
I don't know why I like it so much but I do - a lot of my favorite dramas have this - Worlds Within, Mars, The Outsiders, Aishiteiru to Ittekure, Pride, IRIS, Kingdom of the Winds etc.
I like the slow-falling-in-love too (am adoring Pick the Stars currently) but I have always liked the together part the best.
EEEEEEEE! New subs are released on With S2. I don't think I will be sleeping much today.
Pick The Stars continues to be rewind-worthy for me. I like the main couple (the guy is getting ridiculously hot) but rewind the rest (children, work colleagues, etc.). Also - I HATE the other brother. I rarely hate drama characters but his attitude of doing nothing but being holier-than-thou is something I HATE in RL.
New subs? Must obtain! (I already watched on viikii but I use withs2 subs for 'keep' - they are better).
Re: Pick the Stars. You have no idea how glad I am that I am not the only one who feels that way about other brother.
He's just awful in a passive way. For him temporary smoothness and expediency outweighs any real effect or damage - when he tells his older bro to marry stalker even though older bro does not love her - huh? Leaving aside a stunning lack of concern over his brother, it's not healthy for stalker either - what kind of marriage would she have with a man who finds her as appealing as thrown-away gum? It would temporarily make her happy yes, but ultimately it would condemn her to a life of misery.
Just like the way he is with stalker when she gets all upset about Kang Ha interacting with Pal Kang. He wants it all to be smooth for that moment, to soothe that moment's angst for her so he is all 'it doesn't mean anything blah blah' but that's the worst thing to do - it makes him feel good but it makes it worse for stalker to falsely lead her on - he should be helping her realize (if he's such a friend) that his brother will never care for her and that yes, he might like PK - it's a golden opportunity to get her to move on. But it would cause conflict and unpleasantness in the short term so he's against it.
Also, so manipulative! The way he manipulated the nephew into proposing, PK into being there and set up so that it's hard for her to refuse, and for his brother to be there - WTF! He is putting PK into a horrible position (she has to live with the nephew for a month, not to mention reject someone in public), he is getting nephew's hopes up while knowing PK doesn't like him, and he's messing with his brother who (as he well realizes) is thawing out towards someone for the first time ever (and as a brother, shouldn't he be happy over that?) That's just ugh.
Even look at his early attempts to 'help' PK. He thought his brother was a jerk for throwing them out but did he do anything? No. The goofy nephew did more to have her stay! Other Brother just stayed wrapped in his moral superiority - what, he doesn't live in that house? He doesn't pay half the rent? (Presumably). Either PK leaving was wrong, in which case he should have fought KH, or it was fine, in which case stop feeling superior.
KH might have been an icicle but even then he had the courage of his convictions and was not afraid of unpleasantness. And now that he's actually decided he likes PK and her brood, he's actively doing things to help them. Which is more than Other Brother ever did for anyone.
No need to apologise for ranting - I agree with every single point! Such a pity that this actor whom I liked A LOT in Money's warfare landed such a role. HATE HATE HATE.
As you say - even goofy nephew did more! And he really not in a position to make any real change!
Hi,dangermousie. I have a question. Who plastered a shot of Bae Yong Joon's abs onto this video as the still shot? Not that I'm complaining. It's one of my favorite pictures of him. Just curious; that's all. Later, Anna
This spot was done by arirang (you know, they have it on tv in foreign countries advertising Korean culture) so I presume it was them. I recognized it too and was verrrrry pleased :)
dangermousie, Mmmmhmmmm. As I said, sweetie, I wasn't complaining. Pleased? Ab-solutely! Complaining? Nothing to complain ab-out! Later, girl. Anna P.S. I know about Arirang, but thanks.
I'm gradually getting more and more in the mood for Chuno - I've been putting it off until as much as possible of it aired so I could marathon, and also I had so many other dramas going on, but - mmmm. Spring break perhaps, I shall meet with JH's abs:)
The ABS - yes, we love those abs! Just keep 'em coming, Korea! And the costumes are indeed important in Chuno - or rather the lack of said costumes! LOL.
I had forgotten about that smile of LBH - there is nothing like it. I think it makes me squee more than anything!

Date: 2010-02-03 07:04 pm (UTC)This must have been filmed three weeks ago - Chuno seems to be doing very well in rating, I don't think there is anything there to worry.
Also Oh Ji Ho is totally adorable.

They seem to be under a lot of pressure to perform after "IRIS". - poor guys!
