Thoughts on BSG 2.08, Part I

My thoughts (I thought it was excellent) are

OK first off, Lucy Lawless a Cylon? Yeah!

Second? Apollo, drop the towel :D I need screencaps... That scene was gorgeous and yummy and every other good thing. Icons!

Third? I now have an irresistable urge to write Helo-Boomer fic. The way he was there in the middle of the night, checking up on her, overriding the guard? It begs for some fic of what he was thinking, of what Sharon was thinking. So good. Helo continues to rock. They indicate the pilots are all pulling crazy hours and are dead tired and what does he do in his free time? Get some sleep? Relax with his buddies? No, he goes to visit Sharon in the brig and be damned what everyone else thinks

On to other matters:

It was great to learn Gaeta and Dualla's first names, and amazing to see Gaeta with his hair down, so to speak. All of a sudden he was looking mighty attractive. I think I want to write a Gaeta piece now. I liked how he said the job was his dream (which would explain his precision). I loved Dualla's explanation of the rift with her family. I continue to love her.

I liked that Tigh, flaws and all, will always come through when push comes to shove and was willing to face the responsibility at the end. Ellen is the worst kind of enabler though. Ugh.

It's late and I want to go to bed, so my thoughts on the role of the press, on Apollo's caring for his pilots and capability as a CAG, Starbuck working it out with the punch bag and Adama's sheer rock-ness (ditto on Roslin) later.

I think I'd be happier if we'd gotten a short Helo/Boomer scene at the end where they were relieved their baby was ALIVE (because that is, you know, *important*). But I look forward to watching the episode and loving Lucy!

Thankfully, this week, waiting for the ep download isn't actually that bad. I must be getting used to the routine.

Oh yes, that scene would have been lovely, but I am OK with it not being there as the scene was mostly journalist-focused. Plus, more room for fic.
