Let's Make a Deal, drama-style

Because for various reasons I've been talking about Something Happened in Bali (aka What Happened in Bali/Memories of Bali) a lot lately, I want to do a rewatch.

But I don't like being lonesome and would appreciate company.

So I am offering a deal - if you will watch Bali with me so we could blabber about it together, in exchange I will watch WHATEVER drama of your choice and blog about it. Any drama - from any country, any genre, any actors, any length (with a caveat - I draw a line at anything over 50 eps. Bali is only 20 so that's only fair).

Offer's on the table.

Here is what you need to know about Bali before deciding whether you feel like going for it.

1. Korean contemporary. 20 eps. Which means 20 hours or so.
2. Stars Jo In Sung, Ha Ji Won, So Ji Sub - if any of these actors turn you off in a major way (how? Philistines!) then this is probably not for you.
3. Really angsty and dysfunctional. Think a much darker, adult Hana Yori Dango.
4. Plot revolves around Ha Ji Won who is a poor plucky guide who attracts the attention of dysfunctional rich hottie (JIS) and icy ambitious poor one (SJS).
5. When I say dysfunctional, I definitely MEAN it.
6. Worst kdrama parent EVER. Tough competition, clear winner. A plus for me, might not be for you.



So, do Jo In Sung, Ha Ji Won, angst and a chance to make me watch a drama tempt you?

I will watch, it sounds angsty enough. I can see myself wanting to throw something at the screen though, especially with worst kdrama parent EVER. I absolutely HATE evil parents, mostly because I JUST DON'T GET WHY EVERYONE IS SO DAMN FILIAL!

BUT. . .the drama in exchange is something so horrible, so hideous that um. . .I'm almost afraid to say it. But if I suffered through it, I feel like EVERYONE needs to suffer through it. :P

I will watch anything. A deal is a deal and I sat through Jotei so I can survive anything.

Re: filial stuff. Jo In Sung's character isn't filial but it doesn't help as the parent in question is THAT evil - kid doesn't want to be filial? Ehhh, no problem, beat him half to death and promise him you'll kill his girlfriend.

I just remembered a drama that you haven't seen that I loved. I think I'd rather rec a drama I loved than a drama I hated, but it's up to you since you'd be watching it.

One is sad but oh so goooood and one is JUST HORRIBLE and an assault to all your senses.

I totally need to finish watching Bali! I adored it so much, but then the proverbial shit hit the fan with the Soo Jung / Jae Min relationship, and I had to take a break from the intense heartbreak.

I would totally take you up on this...except you know how I feel about angst. So not in the mood for major right now, especially with Chuno coming up. enjoy though! I have to admit, I'm very tempted. :) But I can't promise anything. It just seems like quite a huge time commitment, especially since because of the subtitles you can't do anything on the side. *sigh*
