Next drama I am obsessed with is Slave Hunters which starts next week - being a gritty period drama, a large deathtoll is certain but the sporting interest is which of the characters will be involved in it.

I don't think I'll be able to follow this one as it's airing, but I'm looking forward to your discussions, especially now that I've finally seen Jang Hyuk in action and can understand all the fuss. Mmmm~!

Oh yes. Maybe she and Tae Ha can have a happy ending? (I'd rather ship her with Dae Gil due to my Robbers-related Jang Hyuk/Da Hae bias but I cannot possibly see a happy ending for Dae Gil).

I'm not crazy excited about this, but I am intrigued by it. I'll probably watch it a little after everyone else does. I've never been much into sageuks but I do love Lee Da Hae.

I love sageuks but am usually put off by how long they are. This is 24 eps which feels so very manageable.

Something like... Tae Ha and Dae Gil in an ultimate sword fight. Dae Gil loses the duel. Tae Ha is about to kill Dae Gil, then Hye Won comes up :shaking and crying: and shields Dae Gil and gets stabbed instead.

Both men weep, and under macho, angst-ridden, lovey circumstances... Dae Gil picks himself up, lifts himself, all that pent up energy and ~tears~ --- kills Tae Ha, diediediestabstabstabbloodblood... Jang Hyuk cries.

Then the officials the noble hunters come in, they capture Dae Gil... the drama ends with his head hanging on the streets. His lifeless face displayed for everyone. "That's the chuno!" someone exclaims dramatically.

fades to black. eerie silence for a good 30 seconds ala Sandglass.

I do think Hye Won has a chance of making it out alive - but maybe it's just wishful thinking. I am so obsessed with this I was dreaming about it last night.

lol yeah. i channeled Damo, but TRUTHFULLY, I think Tae Ha and Hye Won/UnNyun may have a chance... it's Dae Gil who I see as DOOMDOOOMDOOOOMED.

I agree. If there is any happy ending in store for Hye Won, it has to be with Tae Ha because, whatever else happens, I cannot see a happy ending for Dae Gil. The only one more likely to die is Lee Jong Hyuk's character.

I am basically going to be watching the entire drama for the 'Dae Gil sees Hye Won again' scene - it's going to be so ANGSTY, I am going to drink it in.

I really really want Hye Won to have a happy ending - she seems to have had a horrible horrible life and at least Dae Gil and Tae Ha had some agency in what happened to them (becoming a chuno, chosing to run away etc).

Hmmm, maybe I should rewatch Robbers :P

i love DG/HW.

i feel soooo bad for DG; i even cried when i watched ep. 10 when he found out that HW is already "married" to TH. personally, i feel that HW will always love DG because he was her first love and her love for TH is more secondary -- i think she respects him a lot and hangs on to him because she has nobody else; whereas with DG, her love for him is deep, which explains why she waited for him for 10 years and still think about him from time to time. Despite the fact that I want DG and HW to end up together, I don't think that they will...which is messed up because I watched this movie in the beginning because of DG/HW. I loveeeeee DG - he's such a great actor and it breaks my heart to know that he might end up along (at least, that's what it looks like at this point).

I have nooooooooo idea what is gonna happend in the end but i can only guess that our hero DG is going to die, sacrificing his life for his love, HW. I don't know, I guess, I'm a big DG fan b.c i think he's such a great actor....and the fact that he was in love with HW for 10 yearss....really gets to me....such a touching, moving heart he has....as for TH, im sorry but how can you fall in love with another girl when your wife and kid just passed away....sigh....

whatever the deal is, i can already imagine shedding tears for our poor DG....my baby...i can only hope that he has a happy ending...

I feel horrid for poor DG. Yeah, I bet he is going to die. Poor thing.

Re: TH. His wife and baby died during the invasion which was 10 years ago (prior to his being in Qing captivity and slavery). Both UN and TH lost their significant other at about the same time.
