MAY YOU DIE IN A HORRIBBLE FIRE YOU HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE JERK!!!!

DIE DIE DIE WHY DON'T YOU DIE.

God, I hate the bad guys in Resurrection even more than I love the good guys.

Also, oh, poor poor Haeun. ((())).

You know, I can definitely see this as a predecessor to Mawang/The Devil in its themes but revenge here is, while corrosive, is a lot more desired and clear-cut. I wasn't cheering for Seung Ha's victims in Mawang to get it (even though I understood his motive and sympathized with him in some ways) but here I want to boil them in oil myself.

DIE DIE DIE DIE HORRID SCUM.

Man, this drama is so frelled up. In the best way.

You know a trainwreck is coming and you can't stop it and yet I want to take Haeun and EunHa and Eunha's Dad and Shinheyok and Shinkeyok's adorable reporter fiancee and relocate them all far far far away where they will be safe.

What is better than one Uhm Tae-Woong? Two Uhm Tae-Woongs.

I am finally in the mood and have to time to watch this. I am watching it along with you. On episode 3 and love Ha Eun to death. But I have already figured out who started this whole thing. Have you?

Ooooh, who?

I just thought Assemblyman and Builder.

Unless you mean Haeun's Mom's new husband? He is too nice in a creepy way.

Haeun = LOVE.

I do mean that man.
The thing that is different from Mawang in watching this is that in Mawang, I knew that is was Seung Ha but you couldn't figure out how or how the other people were involved. I learned slowly with the other characters. Watching Resurrection is different because the clues came so early on, I am just watching everyone else figure it out.

Watching Resurrection makes me want to watch Mawang. As I am watching Ha Eun, I am thinking of Seung Ha. It's not because they are similar. It's the emotions I feel for Ha Eun that remind me of Seung Ha.

I could also see why this drama had higher ratings. It is easier to watch for the average viewer. Not so dark and it has its lighter moments. And Ha Eun is just so bright, even as Shinyeok.

It is easier to watch - but I like Mawang better - it's more nuanced.

I love Haeun but ny now (am on ep 19) he's become so messed-up I don't think even he is sure of who/what he is.

You picked up Resurrection again! Yay!

Ah, the baddies - so good! ;P I really loved to hate them though in the end there was pity too, for some of them.

How far in are you? Even if the revenge is not quite the same brand as in Devil it still destroys in so many ways. You can see what it does to Ha Eun and THAT kills you.

UTW is wonderful in this... oh, he's great in everything else I've seen him save QSD. *Don't worry dear Tae Woong, I'll forgive you for that.* :)

I picked up the 'mastermind' pretty early on as well. The clues are all there.

For now (am through ep 7) I want all the baddies to burn in a fire.

And yes, I am beginning to see what it does to Haeun and I want it to stop - he was such a sweet person, so normal and kind. And I understand where he is coming from but still -

In a way, Resurrection is such an interesting mirror to Mawang.

Re: mastermind. Is there one? I just thought it was Assemblyman and Builder. DIEDIEDIE.

Yes, it is a mirror of a sorts. This time we see things through the eyes of the avenger. It hurts to see Ha Eun go through with all that. He was such a lovely, sweet guy to start with and yes, sane. Not broken like Seung Ha, who never had anyone after his mom and brother were gone. Ha Eun basically became 3 different people for his revenge. No wonder he lost sight of who he really is. I think, the most painful part for him is how he has to use other people in order to succeed. Something that never bothered Seung Ha until he got closer to Oh Soo and Hae In.

Yup, there is someone using Assemblyman and Builder, someone even more hateful.

I just bet it's the Stepdaddy. There is something not right about him. Ugh.

I think the difference is not just having the people around (after all, Seung Ha was taken in by his 'older brother' for a while so he had someone for a bit) but the fact that he does not remember his past. He is free from the burden Seung Ha carried for over a decade until it made him into a total mess he is when Mawang starts. For Haeun, the clock only starts ticking when he meets Shinheyok really. And we see what it does to him asap - in a way, while we meet Seung Ha years after he got shaped by revenge, with Haeun we start at count zero. And it's also better for him because he can start right away, he doesn't have time to let it fester even more (Seung Ha at 14 or however old he was, was clearly in no shape to embark on vengeance - that's another reason why he is more warped - he did not have a normal upbringing or the back-up of being an adjusted adult to start from).

Do you know who Seung Ha reminds me most of, in Resurrection? It is not Haeun. It is Shinhyeok - the withdrawn, icy, over-controlled walking-wounded filled with guilt over family death. Which is rather interesting.

I adore this drama to bits - not as much as Mawang which (to me) is a rare perfect drama, and which seems to deconstruct the notion of futility/necessity of revenge even further, but it's still amazing.
