dangermousieI am a bad person because to cheer self up I watched the last 15 minutes of the notorious and glorious sobfest Autumn Tale with Song Seung Heon and Song Hye Kyo. The one where they are stepsiblings with forbidden love if my stepbrother looked like SSH, I'd hit it too and she develops terminal cancer. The last 15 minutes are the ones where she dies after his taking her to their beach and then he carts her dead body around all day talking to her. I drank it innnn. And then he talks to Secondary Guy (who is bitching that Hero could not protect Heroine - errrr, how do you protect someone from cancer?) and asking him to scatter Heroine's ashes and being broken up about her making him promise not to kill himself. But as he is not paying attention to anything but his PAIN he gets hit by a truck. So he got his wish, I suppose. Ah. Ha. Hahahaha.
WHERE HAS THIS DRAMA BEEN ALL MY LIFE????
In other news, I continue to be boggled by the whole "Lee Byung Hun's ex is insane and is suing" thing. With her latest thing being "I have proof he gambles, isn't he evil? See my lawsuit!" The horrors! LOL. I really fail to see the grounds for any lawsuit, tbh, as all she says is he told her he'd marry her, so she dumped college and came over to live with him in Seoul, they lived together for a bit, he introduced her to family and friends, then he got distant, dumped her, and gave her $10K/apartment as a parting gift. Umm, so? And on a purely practical level, she is not even any worse off than she was before - she can go back and continue with her education - the stuff he got her would more than compensate for a plane ticket and deferral fees.
I confess my main thought on this whole thing is: "Man, why was I not lucky enough to date a celebrity in my younger years?" The ex who dumped me way back when didn't even give me a bunch of flowers on parting. I could have made some serious cash.

Odd however because I remember one of the reasons I stopped 2 eps in, asdie from the already never-ending angst, was because the main lead didn't seem that attractive to me - yet I find SSH hot beyond reason in EofE(the only other thing I've seen him in). hm.

The thing with the gukja couple was - I became a gukja shipper, and a rabid one at that, but I went in because I wanted to watch LDH in a love triangle - so it really shows they screwed up their writing - for one, if they wanted LDH to be SSH's ultimate OTP, don't introduce her to him so late, give them more interaction and DO NOT WRITE HIM WITH ANOTHER WOMAN IN SCENES OF OTP TO END ALL OTPS.
Seriously. I have no idea where they were going and why. I actually would have loved to see her develop a love thing with YJH - how he slowly moves on to a more compatible woman from his doomed love and how they are both wounded and heal together etc etc.
we'll give you the ugliest haircut... and the ugliest guy...

I hated PHJ's character so much - PHJ was awesome in the role but the character? *shudder* The one thing that drove me nuts were people who shipped him with his rape victim. I mean, sure, the boy is hot, but whaaaaaat?

The only reason I wanted MH and HR just for the sole reason that they can embrace being villains. I hated that MH became Diet Coke of Evil later on and even was all, I DEMAND BEING HYUNG WITH DONG CHUL!!11111 stfu.
i think they had a draft but lots of politics involved. Partly LDH's management's fault.

I wanted Ji Hyun and Dong Wook together SO BADLY. The scene in the interrogation room with them, or after he finds out about her rape and runs there banging on her window and pleading? I was bawling. I kept hoping Myung Hun was going to die and leave the two of them together. UGH. My buried hate for MH is rising to the surface - when he wanted to be hyung - WTF? Stop smoking those mushrooms, FREAK, and die!
*ok, I have rage issues*
But I comfort myself with thinking that after EoE end when they will all probably live or interact together, Ji Hyun and Dong Wook would have a really hot affair - Dong Wook will need comforting!
Just - thinking of MH gives me SUCH RAGE.
My biggest problem with EoE wasn't even the LDH stuff but that, as if running out of story ideas, they temporarily turned Dong Wook bad and after Dong Chul - I mean, how? Why? Does this make any sense? Is it written by a Martian? (I was a bit too invested, I am afraid - I thought DW was by far the most good person in the drama prior to that. So amazing).
GRRR. This had so much potential but ultimately I only ended liking the gukja ship which is rather sad.
The first 20+ eps were excellent and then they derailed like mad.

But Won Bin like Jang Dong Gun is one of those I'm a SRSACTOR,K?! I DON'T DO DRAMAS. GO AWAY.
which is a shame. I want him to makeout with Lee Da Hae. I'm shallow. But he's a great actor, has tons of good films.

Grrrr. I totally understand as movies >>>> dramas in terms of prestige and schedule but a drama gives me 16+ hours of ogleage as opposed to 2.
But yeah, I am also now thinking of Ha Ji Won and Jo In Sung whom I loved in dramas but haven't done one in years. Boo. Well, I suppose if Lee Byung Hun and Bae Yong Joon could come back to dramas, anyone could so there is always hope.

And yes. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this drama but mind you, I wasn't all crazy about SSH in this drama. He was a pretty boy in this drama.
As for LBH's ex...bitch should be happy at least she got to shag him! LOL!

Although, when I want to explain the ridiculousness of kdramas I use Stairway to Heaven. The female protagonist suffers through every possible emotional and physical affliction you could imagine. Still love it though.
