To alleviate my misery/withdrawal over IRIS ending, I capped and consoled myself with the sheer perfection of the OTP in ep 18. Clearly, I am the kind of person who keeps picking on a scab until it bleeds.

It is official. Hyun Joon and Seung Hee are my biggest drama OTP ever. Screwed-up and tormented beyond belief, incredibly strong-willed, smart, and so ridiculously happy together.

I love how easily physical they are with each other:

And oh God, they are so happy and in love. I just love seeing Hyun Joon so healed - even if it works only when he is physically with her. Seung Hee is his talisman against monsters. And we never see her shine this way unless she is with him.

The way he looks at her!

And when he is without her for a bit, he is haunted again but she can put even the most persistent PTSD to flight...

The scene is full of adorableness. She stepped out for a bit and when she came back, she found him reading (OMG MY IDEAL MAN) and he basically tells her this book (it's a novel of some sort about a little boy who lost his father and has to cope) helps him as if it's about him...

Seung Hee informs him that he shouldn't be using something so boring as a book to help him when instead he could be using her (basically in that many words). Our Seung Hee is a proponent of sexual healing. Oh yes. Thank you, TPTB! The chemistry and the banter and the adoration is PERFECT.

Of course it very quickly heats up like crazy:

He is so incredibly tender with her it breaks me.

Gee, I wonder what they did all night? (And also - he could sleep without nightmares!)

That's one very sated woman. MMMMMMMMM.

There is no kdrama OTP more perfect than these two. Ever.

You could always just skip the last few minutes of last ep.

But yeah - I know what you mean. Narratively, the ending was brilliant and inevitably, emotionally, it gutted me like a sardine.

Heck, I spent most of ep 18 just sobbing because of it.

Yes it did.

(I think so anyway - the three are so different it's hard to compare, but probably yes - it hit every one of my kinks).
