I can't concentrate on any fannish thing but IRIS especially now that it looks like it's going to end a la Shiri, for those who are curious, one of the most heartbreaking movie endings EVER. Bravo, Korea, for putting me through even more pain this time because I spent 20, as opposed to 2, hours with these people. Honestly, I think the eps are capped at 20 because by that point they are going to run out of horrible things to do.

Anyway, have a spoilery Shiri MV:

If they make Seung Hee pregnant with Hyun Joon's child, I am out. That would just be sadism.

In order to distract self, let me post about the drama I just started watching, Hello God - a story of Haru, a cheerful young man with an IQ of 65, a good-hearted and highly talented lady swindler, and an arrogant super-sexy surgeon who believes he can perform an experimental procedure to increase the IQ of people like Haru dramatically.

Half an ep in and I like it. I am not in love with it yet (but then dramas I fall into instalove with are far and few between) but it has lovely potential.

However, I have a quick confession to make. I love the awesome heroine, the quirky filming etc:

But who my heart really belongs to is GWAN PIL!!!! Ok, Ok, I know Gwan Pil is fictional and from a different drama. But my heart belongs to smirking, gorgeous, competent Lee Jong Hyuk:

I ship him with the leading girl as if it's going out of style.

Awesome awesome heroine:

Haru, whom we have only briefly met:

I really love the way this is shot:

Are you telling me they are not the OTP when this is their first meeting?

And then he saves her life.

And then they have this scene of utter shippiness:

I know she ends up with Haru and he's sweet but honestly, so far - sexy doc by a mile!

Someone give Lee Jong Hyuk a leading role, dammit!

And still on IRIS: I want to talk about that big huge superbig spoiler from preview for the last ep of IRIS because it simply makes no sense to me one way or another.

I am not happy or mad or anything in between - I am just really really confused.

Anyone seen the preview?

Anyone, anyone, Bueller?

[livejournal.com profile] clairiere, where are you? Comfort me! :)

ETA: I am so not cut-out for following airing dramas, especially when they are that super-rare beast where I still have no idea how it will all end on ep 19 out of 20.

Ooh, sexy Gwan Pil! I'm tempted, except I can't even finish the jdrama version of Flowers for Algernon -- I know what happens in the book and I can't bear to see it played out.

Haven't seen the jdrama but he doesn't die in this one - he goes back to his 65 IQ but he still gets the girl etc etc. So by kdrama standards, it's not too bad.

I am soooooo anxious about IRIS ending, wolfie! Hold meeeeee!

*CLINGS*

I'm avoiding spoilers (no, really! for real! I AM STRONG AND DETERMINED THIS TIME. REALLY!) but I feel your pain.

Lets go and watch the 5 episode of "Christmas" raw instead!!!

What is the big IRIS spoiler?

I want to watch Xmas! I've been promised hugging.

Re: spoiler: In the trailer for ep 20, we see Seung Hee be the one who is the assassin about to take out the President! Apparently in ep 19 Seung Hee confessed to Hyun Joon that her father was the one who founded NSS but was framed and executed and Baeksan is sort of a stepfather and she was offered to join IRIS but refused as her first order would have been to kill Hyun Joon. I am not sure how that interplays with her being assassin in ep 20. Whatever else is certain in this drama, it's Seung Hee's love for Hyun Joon so I have no idea how and why she is there to assassinate the President. All very Shiri.

Yes, I am afraid all sounds bad; everyone's death as some kind of redemption sounds like likely option 9and not the worst one at that). ** hugs ** But rememebr "Silence" - that was even worse!

That's true, Silence was worse.

I am so desperate I am even willing to bargain for Seung Hee to die and Hyun Joon to survive and find some comfort with Sun Hwa. And seeing how rabid a HJ/Seung Hee shipper I am - I just don't want him to suffer any more!

GRRRRR.

BTW, The episode 5 of "Christmas" has much goodness - fanservice, hurt fingers (whilst decorating her room), lost and found pendants and all such things.

clairiere, where are you? Comfort me! :)

Someone comfort me! I'm hiding in my corner, trying to steel myself for tomorrow & nursing my poor SaWoo-loving heart. I usually have an adrenaline rush after an ep. (not always, but more often than not) but this time, I'm just worn out. I think it's pent-up anxiety from all 19 eps. catching up, have never felt this tired after an ep. (Yes, I too am so not cut-out for following airing dramas.)

I don't mind getting my heart broken into a million pieces. I don't expect happy endings. And I'm not even asking to have all my questions answered. I've gone from willing to settle for 70% to 50% to 30%. What depresses me is the fear of being let down. And it depresses me I may not see an acceptable resolution with any of the characters tomorrow.

Argh.

Poor me.

Poor you.

Poor us.

JaeBin, comfort me! Where is my happy, happy imaginary LS-world when I need it...

Honestly - I can't follow airing dramas. It's one thing if it's something like You're Beautiful where you know exactly how it's going to end. But this?

And the sad part is, I will so be back for part 2.

You lured me to this! :) You and your crack-dealing...

No more k-dramas for me for a while. I'll just stick to following your LJ. 'course, that's usually how it all starts...

Ugh. I shudder to think what the body count will be like after tomorrow, and I'm not talking just fictional body count.

I am going insane with this and yet - less than a month later I plan to repeat it all with Chuno. (Yes, I can tell myself I know Chuno will end badly, but I told myself so with IRIS too and it's not helping). Maybe I should just stick to romcoms except I prefer this stuff sometimes.

ARGH.

Shiri was a mighty good film.

So this is where IRIS might be headed? Hmmm....don't know yet how I feel bout that.
