I gave up on Take Care of the Lady despite getting through the first four eps easily and actually even enjoying the drama because of my problems with the heroine's character as I am allergic to spoiled rich people. (I might watch a drama with a hero I don't care for if I love the heroine but not vice-versa).

I mean. He is her butler and best (and only) friend and former gigolo who was going to use her for money but fell in love with her but she found out about his past and feels betrayed and they are both hurting now and they should make out already and no there will be no commas in this sentence.

Plus, my biggest issue with Haena was her not caring for anyone and being solipcistic and spoiled, but she has been getting better and she clearly cares and can be vulnerable and hurt. YES. I can put up with immature gal who is growing up and capable of caring so much better than with her queen-of-mean ep 1 self.

I lie I lie I lie about everything. It's just I simply cannot resist Yoon Sang Hyun. It's ahjumma law.

I would watch, maybe, but I'm not a huge Yoon Eun Hye fan. I've just been reading the recaps on Dramabeans which is good enough. Moon Chae Won looks adorable in it though, and I really wish she'll get her own drama one day.

I love YEH ridiculously much - she is one of the few actors where I will watch something just because she is in it.

Re: MCW. I dunno, maybe it's her whiny character in Brilliant Legacy, but while I like her just fine, I am not a fangirl for her yet.

Funny, it's the opposite for me. The first time I ever saw MCW was in BI and I thought she did a good job there. . .I felt like I should have hated Seung Mi's character much much earlier but MCW's acting made it so that I almost empathized with her a little. . .until the end. Damn, that girl can cry/tear up.

speaking of that, though - i keep wondering whether they mean a gigolo, or a host. because the club really looks more like a host club. and hosts aren't all that bad - i.e. no sex, unless of course it's agreed upon exceptionally or something (if only the shinjuku hosts who kept stopping us when my friend and i were in tokyo looked like him! *le sigh*)

Yeah, there is a HUGE difference between a gigolo (a la Jang Hyuk in Robbers or Rain in Sangdo) and a host.

Neither is a particularly upstanding *lol* profession but in one the gist of the job is sleeping with people for money (i.e. being a hooker!) and in the other, while sleazy, it's sort of like a stripper level of sleaze, imo, i.e. rather less.

I keep thinking host too - the place did NOT look like a brothel, but a host club (I cannot imagine Haena wanting to hang out in the former for any reason :P)

I mean, that's still plenty bad (I wouldn't even blame grandpa if he blew a gasket once Haena and DC hook up) but I don't know...not as awful, I guess?

But then I don't know how much his hosting involved sleeping with clients so we are back to square one...

Yes - i'm glad someone thought it was weird too! And it's a good point on Haena. The first thought that appeared in my head, actually, when I found out that she had gone to his club was, 'WHAT IF THE MEDIA SEE HER!', followed by, 'WE ASIANS LOVE OUR CAMERA PHONES DUN DUN DUN'. It would actually have been a possible plot route for the scriptwriter (but I'm glad they didn't go there - this show would not need to get any more similar to BoF but throw in a compromising photograph story arc as well).

and dramabeans had a pretty detailed explanation as to the translation =) she (javabeans i presume is a she?) writes about it in her latest episode 10 summary.

and LOL that is an awful advertisement! LOL. if those are the headliners...xp. At least since you were probably with Mr. Mousie you wouldn't have been chased around the place. I had my mouth stuffed with some food and this host with hair circa JE in the 90's was chasing after me. I actually felt bad when I finally swallowed and managed to choke out that I don't speak Japanese. =.=
