I love Barbie to bits but not as much as I do Vic. Though maybe I am still bitter that she is supposed to end with Peter and not HXM in Bubbles.

you know I love Zaizai to the end of the earth and back, but for some reason him in a period drama doesn't appeal to me at all - I didn't watch the period film he made either. Odd because while I don't like the period genre in general for Asian dramas, I'm wildly excited for Chuno because of JH..

If objectivity had anything to do with poll #2, I'd pick Chuno, which by all accounts looks more solid & promising than the somewhat overhyped IRIS. (Does not help my reactions to Kim TaeHee in her stills & clips have been lukewarm at best.) But if I don't see JJH on my screen soon, I'll combust, despite my nagging feeling I'm going to end up disappointed.

I am a sucker for Blue and his kissing skills but the leading lady was a bit shrill from the one ep I saw. I dunno - twdramas are either a huge hit or a huge miss with me, sometimes their frantic hyperness gets too much.

... Joe Chen is always shrill. She also plays the same characters... always the poor lass. The rich men hate her, but they are stuck with her, they will somehow fall in love with her due to her sheer goodness.

TWdramas, I've only seen probably three. They always start strong but falter by the end, IMHO.

I have to say I picked Takeshi Kaneshiro. But, I really want to see a romantic drama with Kimura Takuya, as the last one was Pride in 2004. I'd really love to see him in a drama opposite Matsushima Nanako.


I'm really looking forward to You're Beautiful, because of the leads and the writers. But, I will admit that I do plan to check out the first episode or three of all the shows on the list - well, maybe not the ISWK.



I don't even think about Taiwanese/Chinese dramas, because they always announce the shows, like a year before the show even airs. However, Infernal Lover just sounds like my cup of tea - historical, romance, revelations? Sign me up!

I had no idea about any of those twdramas except for the VZ drama so I had to go look for summaries and I found "Down With Love" starring Jerry Yan (and Ella and her somewhat unfortunate acting but oh well) and I'm intrigued. I'm a sucker for the emotionally disconnected dreamboat finds his heart melting by his poor tomboyish employee storyline.

I'm excited for IRIS (shallowly because it looks pretty) and You're Beautifully. Chuno is close behind though.

I've been pretty happy with kdrama year so far, especially compared to abysmal 2008. But still - IRIS and Chuno are the ones I am most fixated on (that and You're beautiful because I am Hong sisters' slave) so their being decent or not would probably make or break the year for me.

I NEED a new Takeshi drama, I am resorting to rewatching Kami-sama mou sukoushi dake...which is still pretty damn good after all these years! After that, I will rewatch all his old TW/HK movies...where on earth is my dvd for Turn Left, Turn Right!!!!

OOH, speaking of Kimura, the dvd store at my mall was having a big sale, so my friend and I each bought ourselves Long Vacation....we're going to relive our high school years watching it next week!!! YES!!!!

It's ridiculous that even after 10 years, KimuTaku is still the one take makes my heart go pitter patter...hahaha

I just started reading Otomen (manga) and I'm dying for subs too. Of course, I'm also dying for a computer since I just moved, but that's another story. :P

I like Kame in dramas too. :) But I need more Matsumoto Jun. Maybe Johnny's should just do actors...
