Still obsessing...

I think Clary and especially Jace need YEARS of therapy and a lot of medication even more than their angsty incestuous make-out sessions.

I am on book 3 of Mortal Instruments already. Levels of obsession are reaching unhealthiness. But how can I resist? It has angsty messed-up unworthiness-feeling guys (He totally always blames himself for everything because he believes he destroys those he loves, everything is his fault, etc etc - clearly being brought up by Evil Overlord is bad for you) with deadly combat skills willing to do anything to protect their smart, magically gifted younger sisters who they are madly and mututally in forbidden love with. Even Evil Overlord fathers aside, the angst Jace and Clary have because they believe they are siblings is like a really really yummy TIRAMISU. *sluuuuuuurp* They even had a conversation like Zai Tian and Chen Lin in Black & White about begging not to be a sibling (a twdrama where ZT and CL's situation is basically identical to theirs, though B&W came after MI, of course.)

Also, the hurt/comfort is insane and so good. CC clearly believes that a day spent by Jace without being horribly mistreated is a wasted day. A-MEN.

ETA: Jace is now smashing up his window so his hands will get cut. As a sort of self-devised punishment for hurting Clary out of necessity and accidentally getting Simon trapped.

THIS IS LIKE A DRUG. DRUG.

ETA2: Eeeeeeeew, EEEEEEEW! I know who/what Sebastian is so his kissing Clary is EEEEEEEEEW - I need a glass of milk to wash out mouth. EEEEEEEEEW! In other news: blahblahblah plot. Get back to Jace angsting, plz. That's what I am in this for.

ETA3: They almost have sex in the ruins of his house! I hope there is a rune for PROTECTION, you guys, or there might be a cute magic baby 9 months after. And they only stop because she has common sense and insists they do not proceed until he is clear that this isn't part of his self-loathing party. Heeee. DRUG.

I did them in audio format. Enjoyed the stories very much. It was my first by Cassandra Clara. Whatever has been said about her or the negatives, she does know how to tell a good story. I look forward to her future books.
