Brilliant Legacy is over (don't spoil me!) but we have so much to look forward to.

NOTE TO SELF: Get a clone so you can fit in real life and all these dramas.

So, these are the upcoming Korean dramas:

AIRING

FRIEND - the most arthouse drama I have ever seen. Former friends turned mobsters played by Hyun Bin, Kim Min Joon. And Seo Do Young as the helpless to intervene in the destruction third friend in this friendship. This might be the best drama I have ever seen.

SWALLOW THE SUN - mercenaries, true and forbidden love, ANGST, tough hero who worships heroine and my huge favorites Ji Sung, Sung Yuri, and Lee Wan.

AUGUST

TAKE CARE OF THE LADY - comedy with Yoon Eun Hye as a rich girl who hooks up with her butler :P Woo-hoo! Bonus is Jung Il Woo as her fiance - I adore this guy since Return of Iljimae and will be uncanon-shipping.

DREAM - more like 'dream cast.' Kim Bum is a hoodlum who takes up professional fighting under the guidance of Joo Jin Mo. There are some ladies in it but who cares? I sure don't. I hope this one will be testosterone-fueled all the way.

HON - A horror drama starring Lee Seo Jin, one of the few actors I will watch in anything and everything. This sounds like it could be very awesome, with spirits, school girls and dead twins.

FALL

IRIS - the drama of the year for me. Arguably, the drama of the last 5 years for me. Assassins, spies, forbidden love, tough men and tougher ladies, and a cast to die for - Lee Byung Hun (finally back to dramas), Jung Joon Ho (my newest love), Kim Tae Hee (if she can act half as well as she loooks, we are set), TOP, Kim Seung Woo, and Kim So Yeon. October.

YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL - Hong Sisters, my favorite drama writers ever, are back with a drama about idol singers starring Jang Geun-Seok. This will be ridiculously awesome. October.

HEADING TO THE GROUND - Yunho and Go Ara star in a drama about a star soccer player. While I weep for the fact that it almost was Dangermousie crush's Kim Rae Won last drama before the Army, this sounds like it could be utterly fun - Yunho looks hot and I adore Go Ara. September.

CHUNO - A period drama by the writer of Conspiracy in the Court starring Jang Hyuk (OMG!) and Han Hyo Joo, and dealing with runaway slaves. I am so very there. Airing after IRIS is done. (Only fitting - of all the upcoming ones, the ones I am looking forward to the most are IRIS (above all) and then Chuno).

Friend - yep, i've signed up to this one completely! Simply the best thing ever! Up there with The Wire for me!

TAKE CARE OF THE LADY - sounds interesting and yeah, i love rich girl poor boy stories just as much as rich boy poor girl stories! And the butler dude is my age (i think...)! So Yay for the older man!

Dream - Joo Jin Mo!? When is it on again? need to make a note of it in my diary!

Hon - oooo, horror! one of my fav genres! With added bonus of LSJ, although stills from the filming makes him look as if he's got some fancy pigeon perched on his head or something!

IRIS & Swallow the Sun - rofl, unlike you, i have absolutely no interest whatsoever!

And finally, Chuno & Jang Hyuk - i still have Daemang at home, still in his shiny plastic wrapper! hmmmm, i wanna watch jang hyuk now and see if i can hear his busan accent... yah, watching Friend has made me want to check out the proper Busan accent as opposed to the Seoul accent.

I hope the butler is hot hot hot because for now I am predisposed to root for Jung Il Woo solely because of Iljimae.

Dream starts this week I think.

Hon - I am not a big horror fan but love it when it's done well. Plus, I'll take LSJ pidgeon or no.

IRIS & StS - LOL. Ehhh, StS is doing really well and I am sure IRIS will too, so it's only fair other dramas get some love too :)

Re: Friend. I am hoarding with it because, odd as it is, I can't take too much of it at once as it's so emotionally overwhelming.

I wanna watch Daemang :)

I was much encouraged because in the one close-up shot of lead at Dramabeans the other day-http://www.dramabeans.com/2009/07/first-still-shots-from-my-fair-lady-released/#more-9223 he actually did look hot.

Dunno if you're interested, but there's a new drama coming out in August- Tamra/Tamna the Island. It's supposed to be a comedy sageuk (o_o; Never saw one of these before, unless Hong-gil-dong counts) about this orientalist Englishman who gets his ship wrecked in a hurricane and subsequently gets washed up on a island and saved by spunky Joseon-era diver girl. It should be pretty cracktastic with the language barriers and the obscenely pretty boys and the like.

It's directed by the same PD who directed Legend, I think. Only problem is that it's produced by Group 8. D:

I've heard about it. Shallowly, I must confess I find the white guy hideous - he sort of looks like an albino (and I normally go for blondes - Nordic Viking types are basically my physical ideal in a man, not that this guy is Viking-like at all).

I confess I am also not big on ott comedies - my sense of humor usually clashes.

Legend PD is wonderful but Group 8 makes me tremble in fear (this said, Return of Iljimae was phenomenal and it was theirs).

Still, we'll see.

I see what you mean; I'm usually more into other genres. Most of my wanting to see this drama has to do with my curiousity about how they're going to deal with certain elements of the story. You rarely encounter foreign protagonists/true language barriers in dramas, so. :P

And yes, I have this weird love-hate relationship with Group 8. I adored Return of Iljimae (guh cinematography <3) and it weirds me out that Goong S and BOF are from the same group. o_o

Yeah - I am curious about this one too - hopefully if it's a trainwreck, it's at least an entertaining one.

I heard that Han Hyo Joo might not actually be in Chuno because she's still trying to figure out her schedule or something :/ I hope it's not true

I'm excited about the JGS drama though. Hopefully this time around he'll be less wooden and emo and more fun.

If HHj won't be in Chuno - booo! But I'll still watch because I adore Jang Hyuk.

JGS - teeny idol doesn't sound too challenging :P
