Mr. Mousie just called me to inform me that when he took his eyes off her for two seconds Baby Mousie somehow obtained one of my sandals (which was in the room but not in the vicinity of her play mat) and was diligently licking the sole (!!!!!). Good God, I have no idea where that shoe has been - now I see why parents have kiddie leashes :)

In drama news, I was o_O to discover that Brilliant Legacy topped 40% ratings this last week. That's insane! I am sure that has been no drama for 3-4 years that got anywhere close to this. Luckily, even though I am behind, I really do like what I have seen of this drama so far - at least here, unlike with BOF, I have no resentment over good ratings.

Also, I think I might be dumping Lawyers of Korea - I am always more of an angsty-drama girl anyway, and the male lead annoys me immensely. Basically, if 18 vs 29, City Hall, or Lovers in Paris pans out as a fun not-too-emo drama, LoK is toast (I already have my angstfill with Fashion 70s so don't need another angsty one to add to the mix but would like to add a fun one). I might also get back to 9 end 2 outs instead - I liked what I saw of it some time back.

Also, I am dying to check out Friend.

A love quadrangle with Hyun Bin, Kim Min Joon, and Seo Do Young falling for the same girl? Lucky her! Not to mention every mob story needs a gangster's moll.

Just check out the sorta-Engrish synopsis: "At a time when students had to fasten their collars and crease their slacks till they're razor sharp, these four friends strutted around in their own custom-fashioned uniforms. They walked the streets with their heads held high, shoulders straight, and chests out, fearing nothing when they were together. Joon-suk, a son of a vigilant gang boss; Dong-su, the only son of an undertaker; Sang-taek, a diligent student; Joong-ho, who never keeps his mouth shut. Those are the gang of friends who share their fantasies about naked women and their awe at Bruce Lee's Kungfu. Each of their lives takes different turns as they grow up and their paths cross in conflict with each other's. Joon-suk becomes the leading henchman of his father's crime ring and Dong-su is serving for Joon-suk's rival gangs. Sang-taek and Joong-ho find themselves helplessly watching their two best friends wield knives at each other..."

Friends and future rival gangsters:

This reminds me of Snow Queen:

You have to check out Brilliant Legacy. SO GOOD! I want to get the two leads and squish them because they are just too adorable.

Just think of it as building a strong immune system.

Hee! My kid dumps out his Cheerios from the bowl and eats them off the kitchen floor EVERY SINGLE DAY. I draw the line at allowing him to eat Cheerios in the elevator or off the street, but I can't stop him from the kitchen floor thing. I figure it's strengthening his immune system :P

I hope it stengthens her system too - it's not as if we can use listerine :)

Yeah, I think once they're over being newborns, they're probably OK (a certain amount of dirt is kind of unavoidable with people who spend all their time on the floor, yeah?) Unless your children have immune system deficiencies, I figure ... we sweat the small stuff too much!

Oh, I must check "Brilliant legacy" - I find that good ratings dramas do well for me.

Waatch "9 end 2 outs ". :D Please? Also - why haven't you watched "When it's at night" yet? :D

I saw a couple of eps of 9I2O a year ago and it seemed cute but I got sidetracked, unde a wrongful belief the best friends didn't end up together. Now I know they do, I will get to it sometime (though I'll just start from scratch).

A lot of flisters like Brilliant Legacy (and I like what I've seen of it) so hopefully it works for you.

I keep planning to get around to WIAN and somehow keep forgetting...

It might be the thing for you if you are looking for something not-so-heavy. (Although it has some of the wonderful hurt-comfort scenes). It has a hilarious other girl ( lovely Kim Jung Hwa ) who ends up with the "other" guy. She is a natural-born comedian.

I am super super super excited to see SDY again, if only as a minor character. The opening shows him with proper hair once they age. *relief*

Yeah, that short hair does no favors to anyone. Buzzcut is not a sexy fashion statement...

I've lost count over how many lollipops have hit the floor & ended up back in Munchkin's mouth. Or about anything else edible. We always had to keep a close eye on her if she was sitting in a grocery cart - for some reason she had a fascination with sucking on the handlebar. Kids!

And Brilliant Legacy = total love! I've resisted viikii so far but have been skimming raws & reading spoilers so that's not resisting much - lol!

I can't wait to watch more BL!

LOL! I prefer the name Brilliant Legacy over Shining Inheritance but the abbreviating leaves something to be desired. :D

Hehe. Baby Mousie is so cute! and so are you as worried mama.

BL is so healing after the BOF fiasco. I've staying away from new dramas but BL and Triple are bringing me back.

Since you have quit Lawyers of Korea and are looking for new drama, I just want to say that Hotelier is not angsty. It has serious moments but all hilarious ones too keeping the drama very entertaining.

Is Triple good? I like the writer but the concept seems dull to me, plus I find Lee Jung Jae rather ugly - he's got a flat head (!)

You should definitely catch up on BL. The OTP is so cute! It's really been helping be get over the monstrosity that was BOF :P

Oooh please watch 9 End 2 Outs. It's really good and there is a good amount of angst in the last quarter or so.

Angst? You say angst? *ears perk up*

This just moved high on my list.

I really really want to marathon BL - what I've seen of it is so adorable.

Both have my favourite kind of angst where they really want to be together but they can't because of friendship/family/stuff and there's all this sexual tension and it is awesome!

And 9E2O has a great make-out scene :P

Really? Oh, this is so my bag!

It's official, as soon as I finish 18vs29, I am staring 9I2O - clearly number-named dramas have something about them :)

Well, at least Baby Mousie is building up some serious immunity to potential nasties!

Am waiting for Friend...looks it could be really good, although even if it isn't, i'm sure the 3 males leads will always keep me entertained.

I tried to watch brilliant legacy, but it was either too hot (yep, ol' blightly is in the middle of a heat wave with temperatures reaching dizzy heights of 32 deg celsius, rofl!), or i was too grumpy, but it just didnt grab me. but seeing the 40% figures, i'll give it another go, in between 3 daily korean dramas that i'm trying to watch. Yikes! And seriously, if you want light, funny daily dramas are the way forward! :)

As for Lovers in Paris, I would rather gouge my eyes out! I never made it past episode 1! :) 9 End 2 Outs is one of my favs ever though. Er, have you tried Love Marriage? It's quite good too!

Date: 2009-07-01 06:14 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com
I think viikii might have subs for Friend already.

BL takes a bit to get going - 28 eps after all!

Are daily dramas subbed?

Re: Lovers in Paris. LOOOOOL. I have heard such wildly polar openions on it, I want to check it out just for that.

Hmmm, Love Marriage - off to wiki it.

the reason why i like daily dramas is cos of their relatively easy to digest storylines. No one is truly evil, love is all conquering, romance, humour, agnst all rolled into one, and the multiple storylines always keep me entertained. The only downside is the insane number of episodes (but then i have had lots of training with old school taiwanese dramas)! I have stayed away from the 100+ ones though, most of what i watch are in the 50+ range.

mysoju has My Sweet Child/My Precious Child all subbed and completed. That one is full of mad ex-wives, washed-up singer songwriters, radio show producers, young love, old love, young single mothers, old mothers who abandon their children, etc., etc., etc. It was a hoot, funny and sweet and touching at the same time.

mysoju and viikii also has The Sons of Sol Pharmarcy subbed from eps 1-14. It is still ongoing in Korea though. This one is about a mother, trying to marry all 4 of her sons asap. Gentle humour, sweet, touching. I think dramabeans did a few write-ups about this until ep 12.

if you can find, Be Strong Geum Soon in english, you'll see Kang Ji-Hwan in his first major role too!

Date: 2009-07-02 04:03 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] dangermousie.livejournal.com
Mad wives? LOL

Geum Soon's eps number in triple digits! If anyone could make me watch this many eps it would be Kang Ji Hwan, but sadly not even he can entice me - it's just too much.

i was prejudiced on watchin lovers in paris too coz i couldn/t find the leads attractive, then i watched it and it turned out to be good.

the dialogues between the leads were interesting, mature with enough humor, mostly no dull moments even when they did got together, i still don't find the leading actor hot but he's got chemistry with the female lead so i won't be getting in their way and happily settle for woobie lee dong gun.
