Hong Sisters put me in hog heaven

Mad Squee! Hong Sisters, my favorite drama screenwriters, have another drama in the works - something about an idol group.

But honestly, who cares about the topic? Seeing that three of their four dramas are in my kdrama Top 10 (My Girl, DGCH and Hong Gil Dong. Couple or Trouble was not bad but was not my thing), it could be about anything and I'll still watch madly.

I read about this earlier on dramabeans. I'm really excited because I love Hong sister dramas. They are always full of great characters and wonderful storylines.



Plus - always that one character with a 'thing' for/about money. How fitting is that for a drama about idol wannabes? I wonder what their take will be?




Most of the time (if not all of the time) their main character sort of falls (sometimes literally) into a role they didn't plan: pretend cousin, wife, leader of a rebellion. . . could we get a character that doesn't plan on being an idol, but gets "discovered" and due to family/money reasons signs up.

I think so too. It's just that you hear about these kids/teens in Asia who practice and practice for years just to debut, and most of them get 'signed' to an agency, but never debut or do one or two things and then disappear. The Asian tv/music/film world is very "Old Hollywood" to me in that respect (along with the dating things). And, I think it would be interesting to see a show with idols and someone who (gasp) actually has no interest in being a star.

Honestly I'm excited about this because I have no idea how idol groups work and hopefully this will give me insight (comedic!) into it. Also, I liked their previous works and I hope they give it that shade of funny that they usually have.

Written by the Hong Sisters are truly magic words, I'm actually looking forward to a drama centred around an idol group. I'm even hoping it's a girl group because they write some of the best female characters in kdramas. I'm putting actual thought into this!

I just hope they cast actors who can sing rather than singers who can kinda act.

They've written some of my favorite dramas! They know how to write comedy and some really great angst. I can't wait! It would be great if a real idol group could be cast!
