Wuxia fun...

We interrupt Star Trek squeeing to announce that I must watch Chinese wuxia drama Legend of Condor Heroes basically yesterday.

Based on a famous novel, LOCH stars Ariel Lin (yay!) and Hu Ge as Huang Rong and Guo Jing, a fast-witted, cross-dressing heroine and good-natured, rather dim, genius martial artist hero. Mmmm. YES.

I am pretty excited for it: one of my favorite dramas is Return of the Condor Heroes, a second part of the same trilogy LOCH is the first part of - the main characters don't appear in LOCH but Huang Rong and Guo Jing are important secondary characters (they are guardians of the hero) and I totally loved them in ROCH. Especially Huang Rong, one of the most badass, clever, awesome drama women ever.

Yes! I watched this last year, and I really liked it...despite having seen every single version of LOCH, I still loved this. Hu Ge is ridiculously adorable as the dumb but loyal Guo Jing, and I adore adore Ariel! The 2 of them look really good together, I used to think that Ariel could only be paired with Joe Cheng (because I loved them so in ISWAK!!!), but oh oh...she has great chemistry with Hu Ge too! =P

One thing though, they dubbed her voice over I think...it's not really awkward, but in general, I prefer to hear the actor/actress' natural voice.

I never got around to watching this drama, partly because Hu Ge didn't look Guo Jing-ish to me. But I'll probably start watching it to pump myself up for Chinese Paladin 3.

Huang Rong is, hands down, my favorite drama character ever and I think Ariel Lin did a great job with her in this one.

my favorite character in the trilogy. huang rong is spoiled,smart and ruthless and she is awesome. but if you like this kind of female character, the last of the trilogy, New Heavenly Sword Dragon Sabre is awesome too. the female is like huang rong but she is more ruthless and very manipulate and she a princess of the tribe. Then there forbidden love between the main guy who is in Evil Sect and her. I hear that ady an is going to portray as the princess so i looking forward to it.
