Am so very in love with ep 5 of Spring Waltz.
Also, I ended up getting sniffly. In the freaking 5th ep!
I continue to hate Jae Ha's adoptive parents. Glad to have a constant in life.
I absolutely love the soundtrack and the way it's filmed. So gorgeous. The scene where Jae Ha searches for Eun Young in that crystal museum and cannot find her is just guuuuuuh in its gorgeousness. When his face is fractured in the reflections of all those surfaces...
I think Secondary Girl is nuts. She gets so offended Jae Ha is not fixated on her. Her only encouragement/justification for feeling that way? They used to like each other when they were ten! OK, fine, it would be sweet if they reunited as sweethearts after all that time. But. BUT. It's also not at all weird if he is not interested in you, lady!
I literally got sniffly in the scene where Jae Ha tries to find out if his adoptive parents lied to him and Eun Young is alive and writes his name as Jae Ha on the form, crosses it out and writes Su Ho, and crosses that out too (hello, identity issues!), and then when the man tells him he cannot inform him as he is not a blood relative, just sits there quietly, not protesting or saying anything, but just sits unmoving and waiting as patients go by and go by. The clerk finally takes pity on him, awwwww. (The records don't go back far enough to give Jae Ha the answers he wants).
You know, I think I might like Jae Ha so much because Suh Do-Young projects this underlying sweetness under the high-strung dysfunctional icy exterior.
Speaking of dysfunctional. His "parents" probably made him learn the piano because their dead kid used to play it. And I will never get over the creepiness of them calling him by their dead kid's name. Never.
It might be the chocolate martini I had earlier in the day, but I got sniffly again at their reminescences at the market, the way they react to that fried food stand they visited as kids...
In a way SW is the purest distillation of a Korean drama: it's all about achieving a certain emotional mood.
Oh, he sees her. And runs after her. OMGOMGOMG. And then being a smart hero, he actually gets into a taxi to follow her car. OMG.

I think my heart just broke. He followed her and is watching her in this little restaurant she is working in (he has ordered food but they don't see his face as he is hiding behind a newpaper) and he looks so quietly excited (if that makes sense). And then he hears her refer to the older woman there as mother and the guy her age as brother so he realizes (wrongly as we know) she cannot be "his" Eun Young. The same first name and the sea-shell liking were just coincidences. Eun-Young is still dead. GOD. HIS FACE. I felt as if I had been punched.
ohpleaseohpleaseohpleaseohplease. I think SW is going to do my favorite thing: he is going to fall in love with Eun-Young without knowing the truth that she is his Eun-Young after all!!!!!!! OMGOMG.
OMG.
I am so obsessed about this drama, it's not even funny. It hasn't happened for months and months and months.
I am getting the snifflies and the shakes, I am so emotionally invested.Only partially because of the martini and all the dessert, I swear :P.

Date: 2009-05-07 01:48 am (UTC)It's just so everything I want in a drama. Korea keeps writing things just for me! That's what US needs: emo tragic pianists and spunky girl artists!

Date: 2009-05-07 02:13 am (UTC)His "parents" are so creepy, I am watching in hopes of their heads exploding. But I guess I must thank them because due to them every time he plays piano with those long long fingers of his (yum!) it reminds me of all the fuberness of his background. But it is also the thing he loves most ahhhh-tistically. So YES. Kdramas cater to me perfectly!
