Miscellany
Jan. 12th, 2006 06:38 pmDark Horizons posted new pics from BSG ep 2.15 right here
Check out this picture (my fave) under the cut. I don't think it's spoilery but ymmv.

In other news, I started watching (didn't finish as got home very late) the adorable HK movie Magic Kitchen with Sammi Cheng, Maggie Q and Andy Lau. It's a romantic comedy and I am in love. Yau is a chef who runs a restaurant using her Mother's recipies and hangs out with her two girl-friends, the flirty Kwai and the elegant May. There is also her ex (Andy Lau) the relationship with whom fell apart after every time they tried to have sex something disastrous happened. And there is Ho, her assistant, with whom she conducts and amiable war as he tries to push her to exercise her creativity in cooking and to get her to enter into an Iron Chef type contest. Oh, and he is cute and might like her. I think this movie is beyond adorable and can't wait to see more.
Also, some pictures from French movies I like
On Guard, a delightful 17th century swashbuckler about a humble swordsman plahhing to avenge the death of his benefactor:

Ridicule, a witty, clever movie set in the court of Louis XVI and one of my all time favorites:

Girl on a Bridge, my favorite French movie, dealing with loneliness and lust and love and everything, poetry in motion:

Horseman on a Roof, a movie set during 19th century cholera epidemic. It's a travelogue and an adventure story and a love story and a look at society falling apart:

Date: 2006-01-13 12:20 am (UTC)Aww, I don't watch BSG, but the picture is so cute.
It seems like the movies are a tad...dramatic. You know what would be cool? Instead of stabbing someone with a sword, stabbing someone with a string instrument's bow. Just picture it. Killer cellists. We always knew they were bloodthirsty, but we never had proof...until now. Oh, wow. I need sleep.

Date: 2006-01-13 12:47 am (UTC)I love On Guard, if for the simple fact that Vincent Perez is so endearing in it. And why do all these French actors have Spanish last names? The Brotherhood of the Wolf boys didn't. That one really is worth a watch if you like French movies. It is the only French movie that can say it's a historic kung fu movie with a love story (and Monica Bellucci who I would just DIE to look like).
