Popular actor Hiro Mizushima (24) and singer-songwriter Ayaka (21) surprised the entertainment industry on Friday when they held a press conference announcing that they recently married. In addition, it was revealed that Ayaka will be putting her music career on hold.
The two apparently first met three years ago, but it wasn't until a magazine interview last spring that their relationship began to develop. The pair started seriously dating in August. They decided to register their marriage on February 22.
Mizushima explained, "She is indispensable to me. I thought, if I let go of her, I'll regret it my entire life." Ayaka commented, "My first impression of him was that he had really powerful eyes, and he could completely see through me. Right now, he is someone I respect from the bottom of my heart."
It was also learned that immediately after Ayaka's debut in 2006, she became ill with Graves' disease, an autoimmune disorder. Ayaka tearfully reported that her symptoms have been increasing. As a result, Ayaka will continue with her music until the end of this year, after which she will put her career on hold. Mizushima promised to protect and support her.

Now I feel bad for not liking Zettai Kareshi because he and not Mokomichi got Riiko in the end :D

Date: 2009-04-04 12:06 am (UTC)seriously, there is a very very awesome love story behind it, and while Rihito (Hiro) looks perfect and polished, he is kinda messed up and emotionally remote and has no idea how to handle Mei. Mei is feisty without being over the top (at one point, someone is making a move on her without her consent. She doesn't punch him in the face, she just steps lightly on his foot. it's AWESOME. it's not anything major, but you can see the very very clear warning) and she doesnt know how to handle Rihito and this whole butler thing anyway..especially since this guy she's gone to school with her whole life keeps turning up underfoot as a butler in training.
it's very silly at times, of course, but i LOVE it.
..I should picspam more. Ive only picspammed one scene of it, and obviously, that wasnt enough.

Date: 2009-04-04 01:45 am (UTC)i did love it, at first, but little things about the drama near the halfway mark slowly started to irritate me. also, mei-chan was the BOF for me: i was a kento/mei fan so i wanted them to end up together, but in the end, i didn't even want her with kento because she didn't deserve him, and she would have been better off with rihito anyhow, much like the angst between Ji Hoo, Jandi, and Jun Pyo. XD It was a lot of trivial stuff.

As for HIro not being a Johnny .. well two Johnny's are officially married, several others have official girlfriends, so it is slowly changing. Akanashi Jin has officially borken up with his girl-friend, so it isn't as if Johnny's might fall into the sea and never be seen again when a Johnny gets hitched :)

I hope they're happy though, and I hope poor Ayaka is able to control her disease. Graves isn't a terribly bad one, but really any auto-immune is distinctly unfun.

Date: 2009-04-04 03:08 am (UTC)I have no idea what the culture is in Japan, but in Russia, when I was growing up, most everyone was married by their early 20s (my parents, my aunts and uncles, my cousins, people I knew - they were all married and likely with kids by Hiro's age :D) so the concept isn't strange to me at all. I got married when I was 26 though, because I was in the US, terribly late by Russian standards of my childhood (but Mr. Mousie and I were a serious "we will get married in the future" couple since I was 21 so I suppose it wasn't too far off).
It's funny, because now I have a lot of American friends who are 30+ and still single and aren't desperate, are dating etc. When I was growing up, they would have been middle-aged old maids :)

It's interesting to see social conventions from place to place!
