Yup, still rewatching the Hanadan movie.



































































If you don't love this scene you have no heart. :) Seriously though, my love for it (I get sort of incoherent) really proves that for me,it's not about particular scenes but about how much I care for characters involved in those scenes. Because yes, this scene is gorgeous, but to be fair, Korean Hanadan had scenes that were, in abstract, just as romantic. But the problem was I didn't care about the characters and so the scenes left me cold (I fast-forwarded past the marriage proposal in K-Hanadan!) but here I care terribly for the two of them so to see them happy makes me die (and then resurrect briefly to admonish Matsujun to eat something, for the love of God).

I love this scene in the movie. Through all my Rui-loving weakness (and bitterness that he never had a happy ending or resolution), I love how this scene sell me on the ship.

And yes, I want to send Matsujun a monthly coupon for McDonalds. Eat something indeed!

I console myself with the thought that at least he is getting progressively less thin - seeng him without his shirt in Kimi Wa Petto was positively frightening. :)

I am still very confused that Rui was their priest - I mean, what? Did he enter the priesthood temporarily? Huh?

I know right? I mean I love some parts of it and would watch it again ONLY to satisfy my cravings for Ji Hoo but to say that this is better even if we're just to compare this to the Taiwanese version.

i don't think any version or adaptation can equal HYD in its choice of actors/actresses, acting, plot, story development....
you just feel each one of characters and can't help not sypethise with them. even the evil ones.
loved that scene too even though was not a big fan of the movie.

I always thought the movie as basically 2 hrs of fanservice: there was a plot, sure, but it was all one giant excuse to have Makino be kick-ass, Domyouji be pig-headed, F3 solve problems fabulously, and above all a lot of D/M for the shippers, and not in a 'she is still figuring out if she likes him' as in S1 or all the obstacles in S2, but more like them against the world :) Plus a wedding and a baby - and I totally bought it because I am so easy.

omg I fastfowarded through the proposal scene too! I was so BORED during all the Jandi/Junpyo scenes - well, at least the ones after he gets his memory back. And I wasn't even trying to be bored - I was open to being entertained by them since it's the last episode, but no. When you're not emotionally invested in the characters, it's just a no go.

the SoEul scene on the other hand I was in the heights of heaven. If only the drama had been about them...:(

also, didn't you find the moment when Junpyo remembered her(not the circumstances surroudning it which was actually pretty clever, but the exact moment) incredibly flat? after the jdrama one? There was just no comparison. I was watching it and mentally shaking my head.

d'you know, I still haven't seen HYD movie? I'll be watching it soon now though. I think it's time :)

I remember watching this scene in the theater and thinking, "This is a deep and emotional scene, and I can't understand a word they're saying." It definitely made a lot more sense and was even cooler when I knew what was being said.

I haven't even watched the full movie yet and every time you cap this scene I start to cry! Why K-HanaDan couldn't you get this to work. You started so well and yet nothing will match these guys for me!

K-Hanadan was just a mess anyway, but the jdrama was amazing so even if kdrama makers were less insane, it probably wouldn't get that same awesome chemistry again.
