I am watching Kings right now (the new TV show which is a modern retelling of the story of David) and I have not fallen in love with a show this hard and this quickly in a very very long time - not since the Pilot of Veronica Mars.

It is so damn good.

Also, very very pretty.

I confess I have a bit of a thing for this David already, which only makes sense as I always loved him the best of all the individuals in the Bible.

It just really disrespects/belittles a friendship to say people can't possibly be that close unless. People try it with Frodo/Sam, Kirk/Spock - I really shouldn't be surprised.

Have just started watching (I'm about 20 minutes in) and I am very intrigued by the whole premise. I've loved Ian McShane since "Deadwood", so to see him on TV again is always a blast. (Also, this show proves that all those theology courses I took in school? Did not go to waste!)

I, too, am all about the pretty blond farmboy. I had to stay up last night until I'd made a David icon.

Michal is called Michelle on the show.

I wish it weren't on NBC and especially not on Sunday nights, because I'm feeling attached to it already and I fear it's not long for this world.

I really liked the pilot, too! Although I'm not at all pleased with the idea of a David-Jack rivalry. Hopefully, that's just a beginning and not the tone for their relationship.
